Is this an Alphard Venus or a Polaris? I'm going to guess Alphard Venus since you mentioned color: KM-3550ci, not monochrome: ECOSYS M3550idn.
You didn't mention whether this was a scan, copy, print, or some combination. I'm going to guess that its scanning related, since color prints use all four imaging units, and color prints do not have the issue. Try doing color and monochrome scans in various resolutions. I think that you'll find that the issue is limited to scanning through the DP or scanning off the glass.
If that is the case, you should get the CCD calibration charts and use them. If that doesn't help, you may end up replacing the scan board, then running those same calibrations. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
