I’ve had to do this on a couple of occasions. Even a machine that had been there a while, that just stopped working all of a sudden.
We saw this a lot when the first Gigabyte NIC's came out. Most of our customers were still running 100MB network routers, and the MFP did not always accurately choose the correct network speed, especially on Konica Minoltas. Hard setting the network speed to 100MB solved this issue in several cases. Usually it would print one page, then stop communicating. If you re-booted the MFP you could have one more.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

Whenever I’ve had anything like this it’s always the wiring. Unless you have a Fluke cable tester you probably aren’t going to find it. One time I checked the port back at the router and there was a port doubler in there. Problem solved!
Try locking the speed to 100 instead of Auto.
    Replaced patch cables both ends?
Tried a different port in the router?
It may not be able to auto negotiate a network speed?
Be interesting to see what you find.

Agreed, it's best to NEVER assume.

My money is still on the switch configuration. I say this because his machine worked fine when it was moved to a different port. If it was a speed setting, I think he'd get the same result on a different port. We'll see....

Have you tried crossing over directly to the M3645 to make sure the NIC is working properly? We had an install of about 50 of these and we had one out of the box that we had to replace the board.

Any updates on the machine in question?

I've read this entire thread and the various solutions, but I've heard no one address the fact that the machine works fine on a different port on the switch. To me, at least, that rules out anything related to the copier.

    Am I missing something?

See below Billy, we may have to wait though.

One thing I forgot to mention about all of this is this is the second 3645 that is doing this in that spot, we initially took a different one there and it did that to us so we put the other machine back and it worked so we assumed it was a bad port in the machine. Took a completely different 3645 there and same thing. I am thinking he has something set up on his network that is blocking the machine from getting an IP address thst only affects thst model for whatever reason.

My bet is a poor network drop. Cabling can't quite get a good network speed on the newer equipment. I've had a couple of these cases where a new drop was run to resolve. The older machine would work fine but the newer wouldn't connect or would constantly "restart the network connection".

This would make sense to me if a brand new 2640 and a brand new lap top had the same issue there but they both work flawlessly, just the 3645 doesn't work.
