I replaced a customers fuser (TA 4550ci) with brand new one because in the morning the fuser would put double images on the copies for the first 10 or so copies. The fixing sleeve has a dull image and was wondering if you could shine it up with sleeve grease. Here is why I ask... A few years ago I had the bright idea of rebuilding these fusers. I bought several sleeves that included fuser oil in a tube. (I since abandoned the rebuild idea) but am curious what the tube of oil was for and thinking that this may be it... To shine fusing sleeves so the image would leave the sleeve easier. Any thoughts on this ? Thanks so much !!!
