    Format SSD

Has anyone used any type of SSD to usb adapter to format a SSD.
I want to format a SSD with my labtop to see if that will fix things.

Just looking for a type size of usb to SSD adapter that I need

The would be the SSD on a 3 series machine like a 4053ci

No, but I’m curious why you want to do that?
If you are getting a SSD error there are bulletins re this and updating firmware is the fix.
To date I’ve only had to actually replace one faulty SSD.

Amazon.com: JESOT M.2 to USB Adapter, B Key M.2 SSD to USB 3.0 Reader Card, NGFF SATA Converter Support SATA Based SDD 2230 2242 2260 2280 No Cable Needed : Electronics

I think this one would work. I have one at our office, but not sure exactly what connection it has. It came with the SSD that I upgraded in my Ultrabook.
You can do the SSD in 024 I believe. What kind of problem are you having ?
    Hope that helps !
