can you show us a U89 sample set?
is the problem uniform across the page or limited to an area?
has the transfer belt been removed/inspected/re-inserted?
    life of drums/MK?
    any C-codes stored?

Has that laser been disassembled and mirrors cleaned?

I've done this to myself before. In a dirty environment the mirrors, lenses, and polygon mirror motor can get very dusty. In the process of cleaning the mirrors, it's sometimes necessary to remove one mirror to access others. These are all front surface mirrors, and I have inadvertently installed one of the mirrors reversed, creating a very subtle double image: reflection & refraction. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    hello
I had changed the Magenta LSU laser with a new one and the problem is identical, cloudy image and white band.
I wonder if I should not put a ferrite around the cables that connect to the lasers ?

    Salut

A première vu je dirais bien un pb de laser. Sinon as-tu interverti les DK (noir et cyan par ex), sinon il peux s'agir d'un problème de développeur.

    [translation]

At first sight I would say a pb of printhead. If not, have you swapped the DK (black and cyan for example), otherwise it may be a DV problem.

It's a faff but I'd be taking the Devs to another machine or replace the worse one just to see if issue improves.

It's different on every colour so I'd be concentrating on Devs after ruling out belt & lasers. Drum issue would cause dark image.

I'd be looking at cleaning up that end of the mag rollers, KM3050's and 3035's used to do it and I have seen it on more recent machines too, sometimes a clean sorts it, sometimes it comes back and a new dev unit is required.

Is there any toner spilling from that side of the machine?
It looks like a drum/charge issue or possibly 2nd transfer if the
polygon motor mirrors are pristine on the tips.

I would have to agree with fish up there, used to have 3050cis do this all the time.
