Does anybody have or can point me to the installation or removal of the bridge unit for DF-770 on a 5501i copier?
I am having trouble finding it on kyocera's site. What's happening is the front lead corner of the sheet is catching and skewing the paper as it enters the delivery rollers and jams at the finisher.

If you'll drop down the front cover of the transport unit and look at the guide on the left side bottom of the transport deck where it transitions into the exit of the transport unit (I wish I had a picture). You'll find a small burr on the deck where it will just catch that lead edge front corner. I have been able to smooth those out enough to keep them running without the complete removal of the unit.
Pretty much what Billy posted, but for a detailed removal, refer to the installation guide in the back of the 3501i/5501i service manual labeled AK-731. This is the attachment kit (bridge unit) installation process for the finisher.
Be glad it's not a KM-5500i. They had the erector set bridge units. You literally got a large box of parts and assembled the whole thing from individual parts.
Also check to see if the idler rollers in the top of the bridge unit are all there, and the springs working properly. We've had those idler wheels fall off and block paper passage. =^..^=

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

There was a new version of the relay exit unit released which had some mylar guides added to the entrance of the unit to prevent dog ears on the leading edge of the sheet. Also like Blackcat mentioned, the bridge unit rollers need to be checked as the shaft that holds the white idler rollers wears through the frame and if that happens, you have two options: try and Macguyver it or order a new bridge unit.

Also check how freely the rubber transport rollers turn, I've had to clean the bushings as they get gunked up and slow the paper down as it goes through the bridge unit.
It turned out to be a burr in the bridge unit. Thanks for the help.
