    M5526 lines on prints

Had a number of these machines give this problem of tram lines down through the printed page caused by the transfer belt. But on closer inspection it’s caused by the cleaning unit on the transfer unit blocking up and then the drive gear rounding off and losing drive which causes it up block up. Using genuine toner so it seems a weak spot on the machine. Does anyone know of this issue and is there a modification?

    Yes, it’s an issue
Yes it’s been addressed in production of the TR belt
No it hasn’t fixed the issue.

The toner clumps in the cleaner unit. Humidity doesn’t help.
Only fix is replace the TR belt and pray.

I’ve had one machine at least that has had a reoccurrence of this issue two years after replacing the tr belt. I can’t confirm if the replacement was a modified unit or not, but it is still a regular thing even with genuine toner. Most I’ve replaced have been under warranty

Yes replaced ITB and it fixes it but it’s expensive to replace whole belt for just this.

Nice one. In the worst cases it also takes out the K drum as the waste toner exits through that as well M5526 lines on prints

I've run into this on a few occasions (and we only have a few of these out in the field). Good to know I'm not the only one. I think if they had put the hook on the curved side of the 'D' on the waste toner gear, it wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue.
