    5053ci Adj lead edge void

When printing photos, paper jamming at the fuser.
Everything else prints fine. It seems the lead edge gets stuck unto the fuser and causes an accordion jam.

Anyone know the lead edge void adjustment on these?

    Or any other suggestions?

    Thanks

The adjustment you want for all printing (also usb) is U34 Start Position
Typically this will need to be adjusted for all sources to between +.5 to +1.5 depending on the machine.
I find it useful to have a suitable test document on a USB to print. One I use was a check in poster that was jamming every time in the clients machine. I now use this for all run ups and field adjustments.

The example below is actually where a tech had adjusted all the U34 start sources to +3.0 Lead edge is on the right. Note how far it moves.

Don’t worry about trying to adjust this using the machines print out. It is much easier to toggle out of test mode to the usb stored document and back to do a “real world” test page.

    U 402 is scanning only.

It's pretty nuts that 402 doesn't affect printing... Literally every single machine fuser wraps by default. No idea why you wouldn't have u402 affect everything. Would be the easiest thing in the world to sort I'd of thought.

U034 only one that helps but then you have to deal with centering issues so it's not ideal..

Thank you so much, this cuts down my time immensely, I can imagine trying to go through this adjustment not getting what I really want. 👍🏻

    Thanks for all the feedback!

Run it letter-R (landscape) or on 28# stock, is what I tell customers.
    Hope that helps !

I usually just use U415, that seems to be sufficient to stop most fuser wraps.

I wonder if this is what’s used at factory as I’ve not seen a machine out of the box with equal lead/trail margins. I’ll see if this makes the correct adjustments next week cheers 5053ci Adj lead edge void
