    Kyocera Copystar 2560 unser name password reset

    Good morning guys, I know... They're very old, but my customer has 2 of these with super low meter 100k... They want to set up scan to email & they have their own I.T. guys, but they can't get into the set up without the user name & password.

    They have tried the normal, 3000 or 6000, admin or admin00.. but nothing they enter is right. Is there a way to reset the user name & PW for them to set up scan to email?

    I'M ALSO CURIOUS, IS THE UN & PW STORED ON THE HARD DRIVE OR IS IT ON THE MAIN BOARD? They have about 10 of the 2560's & if the hard drive can be swapped out to one of the units, then everything would already be on the scan to email as far as addresses.. But if the UN & PW are on the main board, then what is my next move?

    Thanks

    The 2560 by default uses 2500 for the UN/PW through the console, but if someone changed it somewhere in the machine's history, and no one remembers what it is, only a U021 will reset it.

    From my notes:

    Problem: Someone has changed the default Admin Password.

    Solution: I've found that sending Prescribe commands don't work. Run U021/Intilize Memory. This works every time but be sure to back up data to USB because you're
    gonna lose address book and other settings.
    It's weird that U21 didn't work for you. Head scratcher. Good luck.

    The default 2500/2500 should work from the machine panel, but not necessarily from the Command Center. If you have access to the machine you should be able to default it back to 'blank'/'blank' (no username/no password)

    OR, you can try one of these PreScribe Commands:
    !R! ACNT "REST";EXIT;
    !R! KSUS "AUIO", "CUSTOM:Admin Password = 'admin00'";EXIT;

    Warning: Engine reset will wipe out everything:
    !R! ACNT "EGRE";EXIT;
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: Kyocera Copystar 2560 unser name password reset

    Operator Guide says default user name and password for the 2560 is 3060 for the user name and 3060 for the password same as the 3060. 6482 might also work.

    This has worked for me in the past and is worth a try.

    For MFPs;
    The default login user name and password are both “3060”
    • Log into the machine's “User Login/Job Accounting” function under the system menu with the supervisor account (IE; 4500, 4500 on a TA-4551ci).
    • From there you can go to “User Login Setting” > “Local User List”.
    • Select the Admin user and touch the “Detail” button.
    From this screen you can change the Admin password back to Admin or what ever PW you desire.. You can also create a new user/password combination and assign this new user administrator privileges.
