Question KYOCERA "close the back cover"

    Hello
    I've got a printer KYOCERA ecosys 5021cdn,

the copier says to close the back cover, but the cover is closed.
I manually push on the sensor, but it still says it is open.

Is there any way to tell what the problem is?

    thank you in advance

I'm not here to downgrade anyone...BUT... are you a tech? Seems pretty straight forward, a tech would try all the obvious things ... micro switch for activation, tab on back door where switch activates, can you hear the micro-switch click? Did you meter it for differences when activating? So many questions ......

I have not been in one of these frames for a while, but the predecessor had the TOP cover ACTUATOR and the REAR cover ACTUATOR tied together mechanically (was a clear plastic ribbon- right side mid-level). The mechanism would become fouled and usually indicate rear cover open.

NOTE: I said ACTUATOR - in that case the door plunger is NOT a switch. The switch was behind the right cover under the mechanism tied to the plungers.

Pull the right covers and check it out.

Is this the same mechanism that went through modifications on the Gemini series? I've been into those. It's a major disassembly.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That's the one. The dual switch actuator has a 'tug of war' between the 2 door actuators with a thin ribbon of polymer 'tape' as the rope. Funky guides, runs behind the control board, not fun.
