i don`t think that new drive unit will be helpfull.
I could see "jitter" in the picture.
take care for the attachment.
It shows the dv drive changes from new iris series to the older ones.
Maybe the drive gears for the dv units needs to be replaced in your case.
The gears are not components from the dr unit!
You has to disassemble the dr unit if you wants to remove the gears.
additional you get a picture from broken gear
I see this a lot 52 53 series 54 series halftones are a lot better in my opinion.
I'd also love to know of a fix it's definitely Dev unit related. I think it's to do with the sleeve rollar on the Dev units. I think it's just the way they are and you are seeing the AC charge pattern it applies to that sleeve rollar.
It's there from new but as they get to 300k it becomes very apparent if you do solid half tones. Usually for me after replacing Dev units it's not noticeable for another few hundred k.
As Kyo_Oem has shown you, you failed to replace all the drive components. I was not aware there was an intermediate gear assembly between the Drive Unit and the DV.
Apparently though this is all that can be done from a replacement stand point, removing worn gears will reduce gear lash effects.
The jitter appears to be transmitted to the image also because of some play in the DV mounting and drive angles which were revised, but not in your model apparently. DV's are hard to turn under most conditions and it's this resistance that causes drive forces to be transmitted to the frame rather than the roller.
In fact, new dv's might be worse than old ones because of increased torque resistance of being new, but I don't think they could get loose enough NOT to transmit some jitter.
We all knew the jitter was from gear noise because the pattern matches the typical pitch of the gear teeth. Kyo_Oem has shown us that the jitter is not only transmitted to the DV roller, but to the entire DV unit and this was determined to be a design problem.
