Opinions on the Copystar CS-508ci
Hi guys; I have an opportunity to pick up a new customer and they currently have a Ricoh IMC-4500 full color machine. Their agreement ends at end of this month. They don't do a lot of 11x17 & asked for me to quote a 14" full color machine. ... so I was thinking of quoting them the CS-508ci with 4 drawers, DP-5120 & using it as Copier-Printer & scanner ... They do approx. 4,000 per month total.... and 1,500 per month is color... I wanted opinions on this model , because the page count per month is low. The Ricoh is 3 years old & has a total page count bk/c of 140K & of that total, 54k is color. what do ya think?

You shouldn't have to do anything but feed tires and possibly an occasional drum.

If you sell them a DF-5120 be sure to install the modification kit ( COM-0373 (H020) ) in it. You might not have any problems until they duplex, sort and staple at the same time.

No finisher stapler, no nothing like that, just a straightforward dual scan document feeder and four drawers.

Are the toner yields close to the stated counts?

Gotta couple of 508ci and a few 408ci out in the field. No problems so far.
I have a bunch of 406ci out there that have replaced all the Oki MPS3537 and MPS4242 over the last few years. In al that time I think I have replaced one black developer unit, one transfer belt, and a hand full for paper feed rollers for the first drawer. That's it.
Hope that helps.
