TASKalfa 4004i - fax question

Is it common for you to have to input the Fax number three times to use the FAX. Input it the first time, have to input it again, and then to Check it. Is there a way to turn some of this OFF? What is the purpose of this on the new machines. VERY frustrating to say the least. Customers do not like it either. You input it from the address book and still have to check it? What happened to just input it from the address book and pressing Start?
