I would imagine it would but not entirely sure, it may be that the machine is over toning that colour anyway so it's negligible.
It def fixed my problem and we havn't had any complaints from the customer regarding copy quality... well nothing we havn't been able to sort out anyway.
Just wanna thank Rashid120 for this solution. I was banging my head against the wall for several hours today trying to remove the background when color copying. After seeing this tip, i lowered CMY values to -2 and it was gone.

I would also suggest checking the main charge roller on the magenta drum unit and give that a clean. will often cause light backgrounding and will mean you dont need to run sim 429 to counteract the main charge fault.
