    Kyocera KM-C2525E background lines

I'm a bit stumped on this one. The machine prints out very very light gray banding from top to bottom of LT prints. Does this on prints and copies, black and color. It seems to really stand out when running a blank print or print with very little image, but is barely there or gone with more coverage. The gray banding is thin, about a 1/4 in thick in a random pattern from top to bottom, but thicker than a laser line issue. For clarification, the bands run from the front frame to the rear frame of the machine. I've cleaned the optics to be safe. I've also removed the laser unit and carefully cleaned the polygon mirrors and all other lsu mirrors. I've ran a drum refresh and dv refresh. Power checks out good.

I've replaced the following or switched with known working units.
    Primary Transfer Belt Unit
    K DV Unit
    K Drum Unit
Fuser was replaced awhile back due to noise.

This machine has had very little use or the 5 years in their office. Count is about 50K black and 35K color. Due to the little use, it has all other original PM supplies.

I'm not sure of my next step besides trying to update firmware with the CF. Any ideas?

Yes, I'd like to see samples too. Especially the U089 Gray test patterns in each color. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: Kyocera KM-C2525E background lines

I scanned the 089 gray pattern so you can at least see the lines. When printing/copying something blank it prints what is in the other attachments. They are very very light so my scans wouldn't even show them. I had to take pictures with my phone.

Basically, the customer is ok with printing like this for normal use, however, when they have to have a nicely printed presentation or bid, they would rather the faint gray lines be gone.

I did also update the firmware to the latest and greatest.

The gray pattern looks like a dirty primary charge roller.

You can swap drums and primary charge units to diagnose. I did read that that you changed the K drum ... but that charger does not look new.

Correct, I switched the K drum unit with a known working one and it did not change the problem.
