Question Kyocera FS-C5100DN to use genuine or generic toner?

    Hello,
I need to replace the Kyocera FS-C5100DN original toner that came with the printer when we bought it.
Now looking at the prices, the original toner set I can get for around 300€ while a generic set costs 100€, 1/3 of the price.

I've heard that the generic ones can damage the printer.
What would you suggest and any experiences with using generic toners?

genuine on with kyocera's. have had way to many generics ruin drums and developers. sometimes as quick as less than a 1/4 toner used

If you want to kill your machine, go ahead....put poison in it!
I’ve got Kyo colour printers in the field that are still going strong at 5,6,7 years old. The secret? Genuine toner!

evidently he rushed into buying this printer WITHOUT calculating the COST of operation .. I blame a narrow sighted user and the fucking saleman that DIDN'T go into cost of operating the damn thing.

    Buyer Beware.

Buying a new printer will be cheaper than buying a set of toners and will serve it again for 10 years...
    I'm serious...how much does it costP6230cdn or P6235cdn

P.S. ... never Generic for Kyocera!

Same as in CZ....although 5100DN is out of Warranty, but Generic toner is waste of money... kills the machine

here is the states use of 3rd party toner/parts on a machine under warranty will void the warranty and in certain companies will void ANY/ALL service contracts.

again I will state, anyone that doesn't factor in the cost of toners/supplies/paper* into the TOTAL cost of a machine is really rather stupid IMHO.

It's like buying a car and not factoring in the cost of: Gas-Tires-Oil-Belts etc.

*CHEAP Paper can also clog-damage parts.
