    You’re correct. The only way they would do it is if they have a demand for it. I happen to know that on their phone side of the business they produced flip phones only with call and text, no apps, browser, email etc. because there was an intense coordinated demand for it by some religious groups.

    I read back through this thread to make sure I understood your request.

    At this point, I think its pretty clear that new firmware isn't an option. Now we're back to what Print Whisperer is suggesting. His method blocks internet access but it could be turned back on by an Admin. But an Admin is supposed to be a TRUSTED user. Shouldn't be an issue.

    Bottom Line (IMHO) - Tell your customer that this is the way it is and that's that.

    Sounds like Amish. I've dealt with some of them in their businesses. They went as far as not referring to computers as computers because they weren't allowed to use computers. Same group who ran copiers off banks of marine batteries charged by solar panels......
