Technician -- a person who fixes the mistakes made by engineers.
For my scenario it will display "Set Cassette" only, and not lift. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The message should be "Check Cassette 1" and it occurs when the printer detects a delay in the paper pickup/feed mechanism delivering a sheet to the registration roller - not enough of a delay to cause a misfeed, but a delay/struggle to feed nonetheless. Inadequate spring tension of the take-up roller, retard roller or both. Have to have the proper amount of tension - a little more but not too much. Stupid design, IMHO. Talked to Kyocera about this, and they suggested that I had improperly installed the separator assembly, that the cassette must be installed beforehand. They haven't a clue...... Great warranty, though they make you jump thru a bunch of hoops to get the drums, transfer belts, fusers that are going to fail (and fail they will) during their crazy 36 month warranty.
I have 6 of these printers at a school district. They were installed Aug of 2018. They recently started to display" Paper path error, set cassette". At first it was just one end user complaining so I thought it was an isolated case, and tried a new cassette and tray lift motor, but looking at the others through KFS they are all doing it. I did not find anything on the Kyocera site and before I call the hotline I reached out to the school dist IT to see if something had changed on their end to prompt this. I also wanted to see if any of you guys have seen this. Thank you for any input.
Just had a P7040cdn do this same thing, stretching the spring worked, surprised the heck outta me.
