    Ecosys M6535cidn

    hello everyone

attended this machine to fit 3 new color drum units & a K developer unit - upon completion K was super faint, so i reinstalled the old developer unit & prints were a bit better but nowhere near as solid as before and now you can barely see K at all

    heeelp!! any ideas?

    thanks in advance

Is it possible you didn't remove the plastic inlet cap from new the K dev unit? It won't add toner and will result in broken toner distribution auger in the transfer belt.

no, took that off, performed all the calibrations as per the instruction sheet, faint as - even when i put the old dev unit back in it was not as solid as before i took it out - checked and reseated everything, it has become almost unreadable

driving me bonkers!! i'll check the ITB assembly and manually add toner to the dev with a funnel

    n.b. the colors are fine

    thanks for the response!

Drums are swappable. Did you try swapping with another color.

found the problem - thanks for the tips people

removed the front cover (behind the bypass tray) and found yellow toner everywhere, it had arced, tracked and partially shorted - cleaned it all up and scraped out the arc track carbon - all good

    Congratulations on your success. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
