Taskalfa WD 3200LUCT 320gb HDD Proprietary file format?

Does anyone know if the WD 3200LUCT 320gb HDD (302ND93180 Parts Storage Device) used in the Taskalfa 4002i, 4003i, etc. requires a proprietary block/data file format?

If so, I suppose the only way to replace one is to either purchase a new one, good used unit or image/clone a good working unit?

    edit:

As I previously looked at the literature the 320HDD is shown to be "standard equipment". Looking through the service manual obviously confirms this.

So how can a machine be sold used with no HDD or SSD and still operate?

The configuration pages of the machine in question is here:

I now have probably posted this in the wrong place....and yes I do feel kind of Stoooopid.

Hopefully Aneurysm doesn't tighten the thumb screws on me too hard.....

    Thank You

You can fit an off the shelf HD or SSD.
You can format it in the Service Mode, it is in the Service Manual.
From when I have replaced HDs in earlier Taskalfas the size of the HD did not matter (I always went bigger) and you had to reflash the firmware as it loads files onto the HD.

I believe even if you replace the HDD with a larger capacity drive, only the first 320gb will be recognized, not the additional space.

I could be completely mistaken but I believe there are limits in how much HDD capacity the hardware/firmware/software will address.

For instance a 500GB HDD will only format to the machine's limit of 320GB and the remaining space is not available.

I'm finally retiring my Ricoh 5510L and replacing it with a Kyocera/Copystar CS-4003i aka Taskalfa 4003i.

Seems the firmware of this CS-4003i I now own was updated too version 2VK_S000.002.551 2022.08.25 before I took delivery.

Confirmed that the serial number is the same.

        Slapping four-haid.
        I could-ah had a V8!
