Hook up another hdd drive and run u24 [format hdd ] . You don't have to remove the mainboard. if you have another hdd cable and power connector, you can just attach the drive at the rear and hang it with a piece of wire and make sure it would not move about easily, this will save you a lot of time if say its not the hard drive. anyway run the machine and do some test.

off course update the firmware, but do it after testing the hard drive, so you may be able to see where the problem lie. If no success try a diffrent memory dimm.

By the way, it would helpfull to know what you have done already in trying to get this solved.
If you don't mentioned what you have tried, then we may just be repeating what you have done and wasting time.

As experience goes, for CFB31 it's been either main PWB firmware DIMM or Op panel firmware DIMM. Either one will require firmware re-loaded.

The CF630 points to the HDD.

There is no CF2102, CF2101, or CF1101. Too many digits.
There also is no C2102, C2101, or C1101.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Reformatted HDD, reset all settings, removed back cover, was really bad(machine has been in a very challenging environment for the past 4 years) blew it out and reseated chips and has been working very good for the past 4 days now. Thanks guys for the replies. Machine couldn't come to ready when we brought it in for repair. Took several attempts on/off for it to come to ready after throwing different error codes. Now, good. Have a good weekend.

Just want to say thank you for post on your success with this machine.

Others who are having issues with their machines should look at how you solved this problem and learn.

Sometimes it can just be cooling, a fan not rotating at full speed, because it is bogged down with dust and debris. A tech has to be inquisitive about the machine he is troubleshooting and first look over the machine. Years of experience will tell him open the rear covers and look for signs, try this and that before running to copytechnet.

any comments..... let us hear them.
