    Lexmark XC4150 print quality issue

    Hi All,

We rarely work with Lexmark however we looked at this one for a favour.

It is producing faint cyan & black images at the edge of prints.

We have replaced the black/developer drum unit which made no difference.

The YMC colour kit is only half life as is the transfer module.

Had all these units out visually they look fine.

    Bit stuck how to proceed.

See samples below, sorry they didn't scan very well.

... this is why I stopped selling the Lexmark A4 colour machines. I am not sure what the solution is but it likely involves replacing either the transfer belt or the CMY Developer unit to find out. Both are expensive.

Lexmark sells the box for cheap but they make their profit on the parts.

    I see two affects here:
    1) The first looks like secondary transfer ... all four colors fade to the edge.
    2) The second appears to be a primary charge issue only cyan and black, at the opposite edge of the page.

That was a perfect sample image. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I tried scanning this in on a higher dpi but it doesn't pick yellow very well!

The issue is only with cyan & black. Yellow & magenta are perfect.
