    By way of introduction

    Greetings,

Been in the computer/printer/copier repair biz for 40+ years. Started out working on WU Model 33's and DEC's. Installed a lot of Novell back in the day, ran cables, repaired dot matrix, line, chain, dw, inkjet, laser, band, and pretty much anything that could put a mark on the page - including IBM Selectrics. Took a hiatus for a while to write a dozen novels and tour around the country, but kept my hand in repair due to the fact that my wife is a tech as well, and I would sometimes drop by her shop and work on some things I had experience on that she and her other techs didn't. Fixed printers, etc, for friends like we all do. A few years back my wife took over as Service Manager where we both currently work and she needed a tech so she convinced me to come back fully into the fold instead of just tinkering whenever I felt like it. Re-upped my certs, took training on all the new stuff, and here I am, fixing printers and copiers full time again. Like just about anyone some days I hate it, some days I love it. Also like just about anyone else in this biz I get along better with the machines than I do the end users.

Long and short, I've perused the forum a few times in the past when I've had a head scratcher, so thought I should join up just in case I can return the favor for someone else on something I've seen and have a fix for.

    Welcome Murv
Great write up! And I'm sure you already helped here.

    Welcome!! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
