Kip 860 color toner question

Not sure if I'm posting in right place or not.

I've sold 2 of these and a friend of mine who is trained on them does the service so why I don't have this answer. If what I read is right the toners with a blue dot means they were sold through a Kon/Min dealer and will only work in those machines, is this right?

Is there anyway to get the blue dot toners to work in a Kip machine or other way around Kip toner in Kon/Min sold machine? I also read the only difference it the Firmware and how the machines determines what toners? But if that is true wouldn't you have to have all blue dot or all reg Kip toners if you change Firmware from one to the other?
