KM 4700P current firmware

Business called about replacing 5 printers. One of them is a 4700P which they say often stops in a print job and calls for a paper size. It has an extra tray and they have letter and legal loaded. As far as I can tell this is a Lexmark MS610.

The 4700P is at firmware FDN.PIR.E636 and LW61.PR2.P634

There is firmware on the Lexmark MS610 (FDN.PIR.E715 and LW75.PR2.P043) that adds the following improvements:
"Addressed an issue with Auto Size Sense/Match in which the device would prompt incorrectly"
"Improved error handling for media requests"

So what is the current firmware level for the XM 4700P?

If they can call their current vendor to get a firmware update and get it working properly then that would be in their best interest.

Yes, as you say P043 is the latest version for the MX610 that will address the issue you have.

I like to tell a potenial customer their current equipment from another vender may not need to be replaced. It shows that I have their best interest in mind.

Nothing wrong with honesty but I'd find 100 reasons why they do need to replace it with my machine. Starting with the fact that their current vendor isn't doing its job.

I still have a shot at the other printers righ now and two copiers later this year. They are 1/2 block away in a building that once housed IKON. He simpy said why am I doing business with a company an hour away when I can look out my front window and see your building?

They also have a 10 year old Sharp copier with 9 year old firmware from a different vendor. I don't understand why techs don't do fimrware updates.

If the other vendor isn't willing to do it I will surely get it from you. The printer is under MA so I am going to suggest they request a firmware update and then terminate the MA.
