OKI ML5790 printhead replacement.

Hi Can anyone help?
Print head has lines running through text.
Changed print head twice both times they come up with a error alarm and sel light flashing then sel light flashing by itself.
Put the old print head back in printer and it works.
I have double checked i have the right part Number.
Do you have to setup in service mode?
I have been unable to find a service manual on google,
I know this is only a small printer but help would by gratefully appreciated .

There is no need to configure the service, you may have an overheating of the head, as the heads differ in the number of needles. You can connect to the printer with the standard oki service utility and see what it wants

Okidata exited the Nortth America print market in 2021.

Thanks Born for your reply. These replacements heads are new and 24 pin the same as what is in the printer. I will take on board your info and next time i go to the customer i will connect my laptop with the software on,
