Lexmark CX727 adf paper present sensor

Actual model is a Toshiba-E-studio478s, but the problem is the machine is in a filthy environment, and the document feeder keeps trying to feed after the stack has passed. According to my "Toshiba" manual the only way to replace the sensor is to replace the whole document feeder. I was wondering if it was possible to get the paper present sensor without order a new feeder?

    Lexmark XM3250 I think.

The sensor is not available individually. You may find someone with a spare ADF that they can pull one off of. Because Lexmark does not drill down their part numbers to the sensor level it is hard to tell which ones you can interchange.

I know you probably already have but I would blow the heck out of all the sensors.

what happens if you just clean the sensor? if it's that bad of an environment it might not make much different trying to put a new sensor on. i have had customers in warehouses that leave the bay doors open. bad idea on copiers/printers. nothing else move them into some closed in area, like an office.

If you actually need the sensor, your only choices will be the whole DF or scrapping out another DF. Maybe somebody here has a dropped DF with a good sensor? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
