It makes total sense. Donald Trump's last official act before he leaves the White House in Jan 2021 will be to pardon himself with full immunity.
The endless legal cases Trump will be vulnerable to once he is forced out of office would go on for years. America needs to flush the sorry last four years and not get bogged down prosecuting an old man. It needs to focus all of its energies on trying to fight the corona virus, re-open the economy and save the environment.
Prosecuting Trump will only give the far right media more to crow about and prevent the country from healing faster.
