Trump dead enders are still claiming that the people in the many videos shown during the Jan 6th riots at the Capitol building, even though they are wearing Trump hats, wearing Trump t-shirts, carrying Trump signs and waving Trump flags while chanting Trump tweets are actually Antifa.

Their defence is "it was not us, it is people dressed up like us, acting like us".

The Antifa school of performing arts must be one hell of a dramatic college! They are really good! Wow!

Charles Hurt: After Impeachment Farce Ends, Next Comes 14th Amendment

With the result of the second impeachment charade a forgone conclusion in Washington, let us now turn to the final partisan tool remaining in Democrats’ torture closet: The 14th Amendment.
This amendment allows Congress to banish from future federal office any current or former politician deemed by congress to have “engaged in insurrection.” Its adoption after the Civil War was designed to prevent officers or political leaders of the Confederate regime from being elected to Congress or the presidency.

In a normal world, it would be impossible for Congress to punish a man for engaging in “insurrection” after Congress had just acquitted the same man of engaging in the same insurrection. Or, as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer recently called it on the Senate floor, “inciting the erection.”
But this is Washington and the man in question is former President Donald Trump, whose Latin name is Swampus Horribilis.
Gripped by hatred and fear of their long, partisan nightmare, Democrats in Congress today seek “unity” by heaving Mr. Trump into the dustbin of the Confederacy. In this name of “unity,” what precisely does that mean for the 74 million current Americans who just voted for this modern-day Jefferson Davis?
To be sure, it is a rusty, gnarly hatchet. But when all you have is a hatchet, everything is plump flesh and brittle bone. And hack away they will!
    In the name of “unity.”
No one has ever accused Democrats in Washington of being particularly steeped in history. But even for them, this assault on history — and common sense and decency, for that matter — strains absurdity.
By just about every measure, the Civil War was our deadliest event. In terms of raw numbers, the war dead on either side in the Civil War eclipsed every war in our history except for World War II. More than 2% of America’s overall population perished in combat or from disease, starvation, suicide and execution during that conflict, eclipsing even World War II.
It was a brutal, four-year, bloody slog that literally tore the country apart and left fractures that linger even a century and a half later. Ever since, only the sickest politicians seek to exploit those fractures for their own political gain.
Given the current stock of statesmanship in Washington these days, do you doubt for a minute that these people won’t exploit those long ago fractures for a short term political payday today?
You bet. Donald Trump was a slaver who invented slavery and lashed slaves in the public square until their skin curdled with swollen scars. Every day of his presidency was just another Antietam. The high mark of his presidency was the Battle of Gettysburg.

As always, the most devastating thing you can do with unserious people like Democrats in Washington is to take them seriously for a minute.
One small problem with their precious 14th Amendment is that it did not recognize either women or “Indians not taxed” who lived in America at the time. I mean, I get it these people are all about “canceling” people they don’t like, especially based on race or gender. But pretty sure that canceling women and “Indians not taxed” would be totally, like, uncool.
The other really great thing about the 14th Amendment is that it includes a way out for Congress.
While the amendment allows Congress to cancel anyone who has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion,” it also gives Congress the power to un-cancel anyone as they see fit. Congress “may, by a vote of two-thirds of each house, remove such disability,” according to the amendment.
You see, some insurrections are worse than others.
Take Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee, the two most influential leaders of the aforementioned actual “Civil War.” In the 1970s, both men were granted amnesty by Congress under the 14th Amendment.
Then-Sen. Joseph R. Biden, Delaware Democrat, voted to absolve both men.
Because, after all, that wasn’t really an insurrection. I mean, not like this one.

Sen. Patty Murray recounts her narrow escape from a violent mob inside the U.S. Capitol

Sen. Patty Murray recounts her narrow escape from a violent mob inside the U.S. Capitol - YouTube

The impeachment trial this week has revealed a number of new, chilling details of the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol attack. For the first time, Sen. Patty Murray from Washington state and the highest ranking female Democrat in the Senate, told Judy Woodruff Friday about the terror she experienced that day while hiding, just inches from the violent mob, who she says were looking to "kill."

Let's hope they do it quickly. Tear it off like a band-aid. Prevent this moron from ever holding office again. It likely won't happen, but it comforts me just thinking about it.

Retirements shake up 2022 map as Republican senators eye exits

Senate GOP leaders are bracing for more retirements within their ranks, as a handful of senior Republicans decline to commit to running again -- following four tumultuous years in the Trump era and facing a polarized political climate ahead.

Three Republican senators have already decided to retire in 2022, including Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, whose announcement on Monday stunned his colleagues and ignited an all-out scramble in both parties to line up candidates to fill the crucial seat.

The Senate is currently split 50-50 with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking tie votes, giving Democrats control of the chamber.

... with many so Republican Senators planning retirement they need no longer fear the wrath of the ex President's supporters at the polls. These Senators may decide to put country ahead of loyalty to one man and vote to convict Donald Trump for his actions leading to the Jan 6th riots.

Trump acquitted by Senate after wild whiplash final day of impeachment trial

Former President Trump was acquitted in an unprecedented second impeachment trial on the charge of inciting an insurrection for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, making him the first and only president to be impeached and acquitted twice in history.

A majority of senators found Trump guilty on Saturday in a 57-43 vote, but the number fell short of the supermajority needed to convict the president. Had Trump been convicted, the Senate would have moved to bar the 45th president from holding federal office ever again.

Trump Demands GOP Stop Using His Name, Likeness for Fundraising

Former President Donald Trump is none too happy that Republican organizations are using his name to raise money. His lawyers sent cease-and-desist letters Friday to three of the largest Republican organizations demanding they stop using the former president’s name and likeness in fundraising and merchandise. Politico was first to report the news and several outlets later confirmed. The letters were sent to the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and the National Republican Senate Committee.

Ever since Trump left the White House the three groups that are raising money for the midterm campaign have repeatedly referred to the president in emails and other communications seeking donations. Politico had previously reported that Trump was “furious” that his name was being used by groups that could then help Republicans who voted to impeach him.

The letters come amid reports that Trump is analyzing whether to create a super PAC to expand his influence. The move would allow him to raise unlimited amounts of money. The former president has already turned two of the main organizations used to raise money into political action committees that will allow him to support other candidates for office. “There’s only one way to contribute to our efforts to elect America First Republican conservatives, and in turn to make America great again, and that’s through Save America PAC and DonaldJTrump.com,” Trump said at the Conservative Political Action Conference last week in what was his first public appearance since leaving the White House.

Trumps's continuing plan is to profit from polarization. He is more than happy to hold the GOP hostage.

The new Trump PAC has raised $31.5M in the weeks after election day promising the money would be spent on fighting election fraud, election integrity and the Georgia Senate run-offs. It turns out he spent no money in any such endeavours.

Trump kept most of the cash which he can use on travel, personal expenses or funnel back into his businesses. While President, Trump funneled $8M+ US gov't and GOP money into his properties.

Trump's largest haul may come from losing the election and lying about it. Trump campaign committees and the GOP raised more than $290 M after the election.

Trump is more than happy to stoke talk about another bid for President in 2024 because it creates lots of more opportunities to raise more cash for himself.

Trump is not the GOP's friend, ally or hero. He is out there for himself motivated by spite and money.

The short term costs to Trump's big lie that the election was stolen can already be calculated to $519M related to increased security, property damage, legal fees and more.

MAGA is not a movement as much as it is a grift!

Just more proof that donny boy has no idea what loyalty is. The gop have sold their souls multiple times for this coward and, as always, he screws them over. Lol. Nothing they don't deserve. I'll bet they are wishing they had voted to convict now. LOL!!!!!
