Pro-Trump dark money groups organized the rally that led to deadly Capitol Hill riot
- The rally, officially known as the “March to Save America,” was largely organized by a 501(c)(4) group known as Women for America First.
- Women for America First’s Facebook pages show they were calling on supporters to be part of what they described as a “caravan” to Washington for the event.
A web of pro-Trump dark money groups helped organize the rally that led to a deadly riot on Capitol Hill.
During the rally on Wednesday, President Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to march to the steps of Congress to protest the results of the Electoral College vote that certified Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election.
“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them,” Trump said at the rally just in front of the White House before the riot started. After the rally, Trump supporters marched to the steps of Congress and broke into the U.S. Capitol building.
The rally, officially known as the “March to Save America,” was largely organized by a 501(c)(4) group known as Women for America First. The organization was certified by the Internal Revenue Service as a nonprofit that can engage in limited political activities. These groups are known as dark money organizations as they do not publicly disclose their donors.
A post on Jan. 5 shows a video of what appears to be from within a bus part of the “caravan.” In the post, a woman says they had an escort going into Washington D.C. and called on people to attend the upcoming rally.
“Send the word. We’re rallying tomorrow. It’s in front of the White House... that way they don’t have to go far to see us, ” the woman holding the camera says. “It’s going to be epic,” she adds.
Women for America First’s executive director promoted the rally through a Twitter post that has been retweeted over 16,000 times and, she notes that it was shared by the president himself. Trump had over 80 million followers before he was permanently banned from Twitter on Friday.
Beyond Women for America First, there were other outside groups involved in encouraging people to go to the rally.
NBC News reported that the policy arm of the Republican Attorneys General Association, the Rule of Law Defense Fund, sent out robocalls encouraging people to march on the U.S. Capitol.
“At 1 p.m., we will march to the Capitol building and call on Congress to stop the steal,” said the voice on the recording, according to NBC. The calls did not call for violence.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, who leads the policy arm, has said the calls were made without his go-ahead and that he’s initiated an internal review.
From what I gather, it was a small minority of the protesters who broke the law. It was a MOSTLY PEACEFUL PROTEST. Moreover, it was an isolated incident unlike the violence by BLM & Antifa that was nation wide.
The Trump Administration has left the USA with the largest debts in it's history in no small part caused by unsustainable tax cuts to businesses.
President Biden has already said that he will raise taxes and repeal all Trump era tax cuts.
It will take a generation to pay back the damage that Trump did to the US economy.
President Biden has surrounded himself with a very talented team of financial experts to find the best way forward.
As the election proved, a solid majority of US citizens are excited to move forward with Biden's plans.
House Democrats formally introduced their resolution to impeach President Donald Trump on Monday, charging him with "incitement of insurrection" for his role in last week's riots at the US Capitol.
The impeachment resolution that the House is poised to vote on later this week is the Democrats' first step toward making Trump the first president in history to be impeached twice.
The single impeachment article, which was introduced when the House gaveled into a brief pro-forma session Monday. points to Trump's repeated false claims that he won the election and his speech to the crowd on January 6 before pro-Trump rioters breached the Capitol. It also cited Trump's call with the Georgia Republican secretary of state where the President urged him to "find" enough votes for Trump to win the state.
"In all this, President Trump gravely endangered the security of the United States and its institutions of Government," the resolution says. "He threatened the integrity of the democratic system, interfered with the peaceful transition of power, and imperiled a coequal branch of Government. He thereby betrayed his trust as President, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States."
Hard to fathom the ignorance and stupidity of people who still believe in Trump and his ideals after 4 years of his bullshit.
yes he did say to march to the Capital steps... per the 1st amendment : It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.
Now it has been proven that members of AntiFa ( and yes they do have leaders in most of the 50 states ) and BLM were mixed in with the skinheads ( which DJT has stated at least 38 times he condemns their actions ) at the capital building. If you noticed the difference in dress for the people there, there was the typical all black clothing... Helmets .. knee pads ... back packs particular to AntiFa members.
Ashli Babbit wasn't dressed like that and one person the was with her stated we were pushed thru the doors. They were standing on the steps away from the doors when the crowd rushed the doors. They say she climbed through the window BUT photos tell a different story.. she was inside the room, away from the ones causing shit, near the window that was CLOSED (no broken out like news reports stated.)
Antifa has been stating since the 'Stop The Steal' rally was announced, they were going to be there, dressed like MAGA supporters and carrying the typical weapons ie Bats/Bars, pepper spray... jars of urine etc. The were bent on causing shit.
But as always MSM is putting different spin on the reporting. I bet you haven't seen the pics/vids of pro MAGA peeps standing together... waving flags... singing God Bless America .. Stars n Stripes... and the rest of the patriot songs. NOT inciting to riot ..
In a brief session Monday, House Republicans blocked a measure calling on Vice President Pence and the Cabinet to remove Trump under the 25th Amendment, a move that ensures a vote in the full House.
