Igor Fruman, an ex-Giuliani associate, gets one year in prison in campaign finance case
Igor Fruman, one of Rudy Giuliani's former associates, was sentenced to one year and one day in prison on Friday for his role in a scheme to funnel Russian money into US elections.
US District Judge Paul Oetken said it was a "serious offense" and punishment was necessary.
"Our democracy is fragile and it depends on people believing in it," Oetken said.
The sentence was less than what federal prosecutors argued was an appropriate sentence for Fruman's "central role" in the scheme. Prosecutor Hagan Scotten asked the judge to sentence Fruman within the sentencing guidelines range of 37 to 46 months, citing the "grave damage" his actions caused to the public's confidence in a fair electoral system.
Prosecutors also sought a fine ranging between $15,000 and $150,000.
Fruman and fellow Giuliani associate Lev Parnas were arrested in 2019 on multiple campaign finances charges as they were boarding a flight to Europe on a one-way ticket. They were working with Giuliani, then-President Donald Trump's personal attorney, on his efforts to dig up dirt on Democratic rival Joe Biden and his son Hunter in Ukraine.
In September, Fruman pleaded guilty to one count of soliciting foreign donors into US campaigns. The following month, Parnas was convicted on six counts relating to the foreign donor and a straw donor scheme. He is facing another trial on charges he defrauded investors in a company called Fraud Guarantee. Parnas has pleaded not guilty.
In addition to his prison sentence, Fruman was fined $10,000 and ordered to surrender to prison by March 14. Fruman asked to serve his time at the Otisville Correctional Facility in upstate New York, where ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen served his time. Judge Oetken said he would recommend it but ultimately the Federal Bureau of Prisons will make the decision.
... a similar fate likely awaits both Lev Parnas and Rudy Giuliani for their roles in trying to subvert American democracy.
New reporting reveals that Rudy Giuliani was coordinating the fake electors scheme to get the ex President re-elected.
The legal proceedings and setbacks against the former President and his family members get more numerous everyday as new White House documents have been released to the Jan 6th committee investigating the insurrection at the Capitol buildings that day.
... a lot of people have paid a heavy personal price including jail time for their actions supporting the ex President and his many illegal activities.
Another Failure on Biden's Part! Not to mention how unconstitutional it was......which joe admitted while signing the order. LOL!!!!
Judge Blocks Biden Vax Mandate For Federal Workers
A federal judge on Friday BLOCKED a Biden administration order mandating that federal employees be vaccinated against COVID-19.
U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Brown ruled against the Biden administration, arguing that President Joe Biden lacked authority to “mandate that all federal employees consent to vaccination against COVID-19 or lose their jobs.”
“The court notes at the outset that this case is not about whether folks should get vaccinated against COVID-19. It is not even about the federal government’s power, exercised properly, to mandate vaccination of its employees,” Brown wrote.
“It is instead about whether the President can, with the stroke of a pen and without the input of Congress, require millions of federal employees to undergo a medical procedure as a condition of their employment. That, under the current state of the law as just recently expressed by the Supreme Court, is a bridge too far,” the judge said.
Brown blocked Biden’s order, relating to federal employees, claiming that Biden overstepped his authority as chief executive.
Looks like "No Jab, No Job" just fell flat on it's fuckin' face!
Time to rename this thread......Just How Corrupt is Joe Biden!

... before you get too excited a high % of Federal employees got vaccinated while this order was in effect. This single judge's opinion, a Trump appointee in Texas, does not preclude the US gov't from requiring proof of vaccination for any potential new employee hires. Nor does this single judge's opinion prevent the Federal from challenging the ruling in court.
... DND still requires all service members to get vaccinated.
... most US corporations now require proof of vaccination as a condition of employment regardless of what the Federal gov't does.
... you will have to cover a lot of miles to prove that President Biden is corrupt.
... a closer review of this Texas judge's ruling reveals that it is merely an injunction. A temporary restraining order.
... expect a counter injunction from a higher court authority next week.
It is very unlikely that one judge in Texas can overrule the President of the United States.
... meanwhile the ex President, his family members & Rudi Giuliani remain in rapidly deepening legal peril as every day seems to reveal new information about their misconduct.
... The Justice Department immediately appealed the decision to a circuit court.
The federal worker mandate, which applied to some 3.5 million workers, required full vaccination by the end of November, although the administration said it would first counsel employees who resisted vaccination rather than discipline or fire them. On December 9, the Office of Management and Budget said that the federal workforce was 97.2% compliant with the mandate -- a figure that includes people who had a pending or approved exemption.
At a briefing Friday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the White House was confident in its legal authority.
... mission accomplished.
Georgia judge approves special grand jury for Trump election interference probe
- A judge in Georgia approved the creation of a special grand jury to assist in collecting testimony for a criminal investigation of former President Donald Trump for interference in the 2020 election.
- Trump lost the 2020 presidential election to President Joe Biden in Georgia and a number of other key swing states, ensuring Biden won the Electoral College vote.
- Days before Biden’s win was certified by Congress, Trump pressured Georgia’s secretary of state to “find” him enough votes to reverse Biden’s win in that state.
- On January 6, 2021, a mob of Trump supporters invaded the U.S. Capitol, fueled by his false claims of election fraud.
Trump lost the 2020 presidential election to President Joe Biden in Georgia and a number of other key swing states, ensuring Biden won the Electoral College vote nationally.
Four days before Biden’s win was certified by Congress, Trump in a Jan. 2, 2021, phone call pressured Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger to “find” him enough votes to reverse Biden’s win in that state.
“All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes,” Trump told Raffensperger that day.
In the same call, Trump also made what Georgia’s voting system implementation manager days later called a series of “provably false” claims about purported election irregularities.
