$1.5 trillion tax cut had no major impact on business spending
The White House had predicted that the massive fiscal stimulus package would boost investment and job growth.

The Trump administration's $1.5 trillion tax cut package appeared to have no major impact on businesses' capital investment or hiring plans, according to a survey released a year after the biggest overhaul of the tax code in more than 30 years.

The National Association of Business Economics' quarterly business conditions poll, published on Monday, found that while some companies reported accelerating investments because of lower corporate taxes, 84 percent of respondents said they had not changed plans. That compares to 81 percent in the previous survey published in October.

The White House had predicted that the massive fiscal stimulus package, marked by the reduction in the corporate tax rate to 21 percent from 35 percent, would boost business spending and job growth. The tax cuts came into effect in January 2018.

HA HA H A Always Back to OBAMA PS that Bill never PASSED Blocked by Republicans. How are Your Bridges and Roads NOW?

What they show about what really happened during the eight years that Barack Obama was president is sometimes different from what politicians claimed.

The economy gained a net 11.6 million jobs. The unemployment rate dropped to below the historical norm.
Average weekly earnings for all workers were up 4.0 percent after inflation. The gain was 3.7 percent for just production and nonsupervisory employees.
After-tax corporate profits also set records, as did stock prices. The S&P 500 index rose 166 percent.
The number of people lacking health insurance dropped by 15 million. Premiums rose, but more slowly than before.
The federal debt owed to the public rose 128 percent. Deficits were rising as Obama departed.
Home prices rose 20 percent. But the home ownership rate hit the lowest point in half a century.
Illegal immigration declined: The Border Patrol caught 35 percent fewer people trying to get into the U.S. from Mexico.
Wind and solar power increased 369 percent. Coal production declined 38 percent. Carbon emissions from burning fossil fuel dropped 11 percent.
Production of handguns rose 192 percent, to a record level.
The murder rate dropped to the lowest on record in 2014, then rose and finished at the same rate as when Obama took office.

Did Trump’s tax cuts boost hiring? Most companies say No

The vast majority of American businesses haven’t boosted hiring or investment as a result of the Republican tax law, according to a survey by the National Association for Business Economics.

Eighty-four percent of businesses said they didn’t accelerate hiring because of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which President Donald Trump hailed as “a bill for the middle class and a bill for jobs.” Only 6 percent said they had more hires because of the law and 10 percent said they accelerated investments, according to the survey.

TRUMP’S “INCREDIBLE” FOXCONN FACTORY DEAL WILL NO LONGER INCLUDE A FACTORY

The Taiwanese company, which received more than $4 billion in tax subsidies, is scrapping its initial plans, but will keep the money, thanks.

Any sane person knows that "trickle down economics" is a load of crap. You give big corporations a tax break and they give themselves big bonuses. It didn't work in the eighties, it doesn't work now.

With every president before obama my life went on just as normal as the day before. The 8 years of obama my life changed for the worse. My healthcare skyrocketed to being unaffordable, for a worse plan with a higher deductable. The cost of most everything went way higher,Race relation wise things were getting better in the country, things were a lot better than say my grandfathers point ov view about race. Obama made things worse and created a race war that is still getting worse now. He definantly is the worse president of my lifetime.
