Quote From a very respected journalist:
“How do you know you’re being lied to? How do you know you’re being manipulated? How do you know there’s something not right with the coverage? When they simplify it all and there’s no gray. There’s no gray. It’s all one way. Well, life isn’t like that. If it doesn’t match real life, it’s probably not — there’s something wrong.”

    British Broadcasting Corporation.

On mediabiasfactcheck .. where they advise you to which sources are credible

On trustpilot where the public have their say

When you think you have made a procedure idiot proof your company employs a better idiot.

I have always considered the BBC a trusted source of news. However, I do not get much news from this source.

I do really like BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge!

NBC Admits to Airing Highly Deceptive Edit of Attorney General Barr's Comments

Sunday’s edition of “Meet the Press” included a segment about the case of Flynn, who had faced charges of lying to the FBI when it investigated him as part of its probe into collusion with Russia. The Justice Department announced Thursday that the charges are being dropped.
On Sunday, “Meet the Press” aired one piece of an interview with Barr that had been conducted by Catherine Herridge of CBS News, who had asked Barr how history would judge the DOJ’s decision to dismiss charges against Flynn.
“Well, history’s written by the winners. So it largely depends on who’s writing the history,” Barr said.

    YouTube

The edited version of the clip then allowed host Chuck Todd to trash Barr in remarks addressed to former White House speechwriter Peggy Noonan.

“I was struck, Peggy, by the cynicism of the answer. It’s a correct answer, but he’s the attorney general. He didn’t make the case that he was upholding the rule of law. He was almost admitting that, yeah, this is a political job,” Todd said.
The full clip, however, showed Barr saying the decision was proper.
“I think a fair history would say it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law,” the attorney general said. “It upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice.”
NBC News’ edit drew howls from the DOJ, President Donald Trump.
The Twitter account for “Meet the Press” posted its version of “oops.”
“You’re correct. Earlier today, we inadvertently and inaccurately cut short a video clip of an interview with AG Barr before offering commentary and analysis. The remaining clip included important remarks from the attorney general that we missed, and we regret the error,” it posted.

Simple method to test if one media source has embellished a story is to change the TV channel to a rival station.

    Trivial Example :
News1 States: Three people injured in a road accident, taken to hospital.
News2 States: Two people and a baby die in a road accident, couldn't be saved.
Who couldn't be saved, the people, the baby? Who did, or didn't, go to hospital?
Embellish the story audience by adding a baby was involved.
Alluded some facts by claiming taken to hospital.

Given the above random examples, how does the average viewer perceive the media in general?
I'm always cursing at the TV about media incidentals, embellishments, bias and missing facts.

Re: Do you trust the media?

A significant majority of Americans -- including 94% of Democrats, 66% of independents and even 14% of Republicans -- do not believe that the leader of the country is shooting them straight on the central issue facing the country and the world, which has to be concerning for the President and his team.

As President Trump dominates every news cycle, the media sources that you follow will pitch their spin on these numbers.

It is important to remember that various media sources have their own baked in agenda calculated to generate for themselves the most revenue and profits.

If your personality is to be a conspiracy theorist or suspicious of all people in power.you tend to gravitate to media sources that reinforce you predetermined world view.

I do not trust MSN media, but I trust Facebook, Twitter and YouTube even less.

    Re gravitate.
You are correct in that people do travel together in circles.
They gyrated around in their own interest factions. Golfer,Surfer, Musician,Politicians,Technicians, etc,etc.....

These circles of influence are a very real fundamental building block in nature. If these basic principles where taught early in school , children would automatically accept their allotment in life. They'd automatically realise they are a very important cog in huge huge cosmic size mechanism...

Its most amazing when you see how it works in harmony with all else...

Some people build YouTube channels to attract and monetize clicks for personal profit.

A YouTube channel needs at least 1,000 views before it is eligible for monetization. Unless the channel is getting many 10,000s of views the $ reward is peanuts.
