New Gallup Poll:
More Than 8 In 10 Americans Say Media Is Biased, To Blame For Political Division

Eighty-six percent of Americans believe there is “a great deal” or “a fair amount” of political bias in the way the media covers news, according to a Knight Foundation/Gallup poll released on Tuesday. The number of Americans that see bias in the media is up almost 25 percentage points from 62 percent in 2007. Almost half of Americans — 49 percent — now say there’s a great deal of political bias in news coverage.
These numbers were collected from polling of more than 20,000 Americans between November and February, even before the COVID-19 pandemic, the death of George Floyd, and the resulting media coverage of both events.
Younger Americans are trusting the media less than their parents and grandparents. Only 19 percent of Americans under 30 and 27 percent of Americans 30-49 had a favorable opinion of the news media, compared with 44 percent of those over 65.

Maybe this has something to do with an upswing in media distrust.

Trump has consistently vilified the national media. When he called the media “absolute scum” and “totally dishonest people.” As president, he has called news organizations “fake news” and “the enemy of the people” over and over. The examples are endless. Predictably, he has blamed the coronavirus crisis on the media, saying “We were very prepared. The only thing we weren’t prepared for was the media.”

Washington Post Forced To Issue Correction After Botched Trump Report Causes Confusion

The news was sensational. The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Twitter had banned President Donald Trump — whose signature tweets have remade the face of political communication — from tweeting because of a comment he made about the coronavirus.

The report spread like mad. Journalists for The Post made sure of that as they tweeted the news to their followers.

But then they had to delete all that when the truth came out that The Post had gotten it wrong.
The original post read this way: “Breaking: Twitter said it will require President Trump to remove a post containing coronavirus misinformation, banning him from tweeting until he does so. Twitter hid the post and said he will not be able to tweet from his account until he deletes it, although he can appeal the decision,” according to Fox News.

Readers who see the updated story now will see something different.
“Correction: Twitter penalized Team Trump, the president’s campaign account. An earlier version of this article said that Twitter penalized President Trump’s account,” The Post wrote in an italicized correction that now serves as the first paragraph in its revised story.
The publication of what The Post admitted was false news led some on Twitter to condemn the newspaper.

I fell victim to #fakenews from the #WashingtonPost, who originally said Twitter had locked Pres. #Trump's account—@realDonaldTrump. WaPo later issued correction that the official Twitter account of the Trump Campaign, @TeamTrump had been locked. Never trust the Washington Post.

As reported by Fox News, Facebook and Twitter muzzled a video clip of Trump, in an interview, saying that children are “almost immune” to the coronavirus.They called the claim misinformation, then blocked it on the campaign page’s Facebook account and disabled it in the page’s Twitter account.Then Twitter banned the Team Trump account from tweeting until the post that contained the video was taken down.
The Post’s article includes a comment from a Twitter spokesperson that the tweet was “in violation of the Twitter Rules on COVID-19 misinformation. The account owner will be required to remove the Tweet before they can Tweet again.”
Trump campaign spokeswoman Courtney Parella told Fox News that the president was “stating a fact that children are less susceptible to the coronavirus.”
“Another day, another display of Silicon Valley’s flagrant bias against this President, where the rules are only enforced in one direction. Social media companies are not the arbiters of truth,” she said.


On Thursday, Trump responded to the incidents during an appearance on Geraldo Rivera’s radio show on WTAM-AM in Cleveland, according to Bloomberg.
“They’re doing anybody, on the right, anybody, any Republican, any conservative Republican is censored, and look at the horrible things they say on the left,” Trump said.

Five-year-old Cannon Hinnant was murdered in cold blood this past Sunday while out riding a bike in front of his father’s house. The alleged killer, Darius Sessoms, was witnessed walking right up to the child, putting the gun to his head, and pulling the trigger. An execution at point blank range, of a small child, in front of his sisters who were also playing outside at the time.

As of this morning, when I last checked, a search for Cannon Hinnant turned up zero results with the New York Times, the Washington Post, Reuters, Yahoo News, NBC News, and ABC News. A search on CNN also turns up no results.

Why would the liberal media refuse to run this story? Is it because it doesn't fit their "Whites killing Blacks" narrative? I bet if it was a White man killing a Black kid it would have been plastered all over for days, most likely resulting in some rioting and "protesting".
FOX news was the only national media source to report on this.

Yet another example of why I don't trust the media!

Burisma, the shady firm that presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son Hunter worked at for years, has returned to the spotlight despite fervent attempts by Democrat politicians, their media allies, and State Department employees to bury it, and the evidence appears even more damning than before.
Documents uncovered by investigative reporter John Solomon thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request filed against the State Department allegedly prove that the Obama administration had been in constant contact with Burisma.
The documents also allegedly prove that State Department officials had lied to Congress last year when they claimed they hadn’t been in contact with Burisma.
All of this was revealed by Solomon during an appearance Wednesday evening on Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight.”

“[T]here are documents that were kept from the Senate … that show that Burisma was in constant contact with the embassy in Ukraine and with the State Department in Washington that contradicts and conflicts with the very testimony State Department officials gave last January during the impeachment trial,” Solomon said.
“It turns out they had non-stop contact with Burisma. Their lobbyists were cornering them at confirmation hearings, at events. There were meetings at the embassy, meetings in the headquarters of Washington. And Hunter Biden’s company was pressuring the Obama State Department to make those corruption allegations go away.”
Those corruption charges are at the center of allegations that Hunter had levied his father’s political power to protect Burisma from being scrutinized by the authorities.
“That’s a narrative that the Democrats have tried to hide for the last 18 months,” Solomon continued, adding that some Republicans are helping them do exactly that.
Although Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson has been relentlessly trying to investigate the Burisma debacle, he’s faced pushback and obstruction from some of his Republican colleagues.
“I think the senators need to know what’s been found by this investigation — that State Department officials are confirming on the record in testimony that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden engaged in a prohibited conflict of interest,” Solomon continued.
“I also am hearing from sources inside the U.S. government … that the committee recently obtained records showing that certain transactions involving the Biden family were flagged as suspicious by intelligence and financial overseers in the government.”

“Those are the sort of things that when they get to the public, maybe it’ll change the mind of some of those senators who’ve been dragging their feet and keeping Ron Johnson and [Senate Finance Committee chair] Chuck Grassley from doing their job.”
Ideally yes, but it seems many Republicans have fed into the media-concocted lie, as Johnson himself reportedly put it later Wednesday evening on Fox News’ “The Story,” that “there is ‘no evidence of wrongdoing or illegal activity’ related to Hunter Biden’s position on Burisma’s board.”
“I could not disagree more. A brief summary of the timeline of events in Ukraine will support my assessment,” the senator added.
Part of the problem, Solomon speculated on FBN, is that congressional Republicans are suffering “political PTSD” from the Democrats’ sham impeachment trial.
“When we first started writing about Ukraine a year ago, it led to the impeachment proceedings, and people don’t want to go through that again,” he said.
Indeed. The sham impeachment was based entirely on the debunked theory that President Donald Trump had reached out to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to obtain information on Biden’s alleged corruption so that he could use that information to hurt Biden’s chances in the 2020 race.
