    Re: 3D printed copier/printer parts.

Interesting how blokes are 3D printing with polymers.

Where I would like to end up is printing 3D metals.

Another idea is to 3D print the mould billet/shape using polymers.
Push the shape down into casting sand or plaster of Paris.
Pour molten aluminium into the sprue to form complex metal shapes.

Aluminium melts at around 660 C and cools quickly.
Aluminium or magnesium(lawnmower frames) are good for hobby shop casting.

You can easy build a hot melt forge out of an old BBQ gas bottle cut In half.
Weld three legs on the top where the tap hole is located, use the bottom as the forge lid.
Use the exhaust flow from an old vacuum cleaner to blow air in through the tap hole and heat the charcoal to super hot.
Make a crucible/pot out of an old pieice of metal pipe.

3d "welder printer" its a MIG welder on a robot arm. Printing rocket engines.
lost PLA casting is very interesting way to make metal 3d printed parts.

Here is a knowledgeable guy on metal 3d printing. Dan Gelbard.
    Whatever
