.. when you purchase a MLB ticket, you are gaining access to a private facility. That private business has the right to protect it's entertainment content to paid viewers. Voting is not considered an entertainment event and there are safeguards built into the process to properly identify the voter.
Republicans are only concerned about limiting the pool of potential voters when they fear they might lose an election.
Let’s See....you need an ID for:
-Driving
-Opening a Bank account
-Purchasing Alcohol
-Purchasing Cigarettes
-Shopping at adult entertainment stores
-Applying for Food Stamps
-Applying for ANY kind of welfare
-Social Security
-Unemployment
-Getting A JOB
-Renting a house
-buying a house/ getting a mortgage
-buying or renting a car
-renting movies
-getting married
-Flying on an airplane
-purchase a gun
-rent a hotel
-adopt a pet
-hunting license
-fishing license

MLB Moves All Star Game To Colorado, Which Has Voter ID Laws, Significantly Less Diverse Than Georgia
The Colorado Secretary of State’s website states:All voters who vote at the polls must provide identification. If you are voting by mail for the first time, you may also need to provide a photocopy of your identification when you return your mail ballot.
Many were also quick to point out that both the city and state where the game is being moved to, Denver, Colorado, are both significantly less racially diverse than Atlanta, Georgia.
- Colorado is 86.9% white and 4.6% black.
- Georgia is 60.2% white and 32.6% black.
- Denver is 76.1% white and 9.2% black.
- Atlanta is 40.9% white and 51% black.
Again, just goes to show how purely political the MLB’s decision was!
They will now suffer the same fate as the NBA and NFL where viewership is at an all time low, and ratings have tanked!
At least they have China to fall back on!

Make voting harder
The Georgia law is part of an ongoing effort by the Republican Party to make voting more difficult, mostly because Republicans believe they win when turnout is low.
There is no accurate way to describe this effort other than anti-democratic.
The Republican Party’s justification is “election integrity” — that is, stopping voter fraud. But voter fraud is exceedingly rare. There is no reason to believe it has determined the outcome of a single U.S. election in decades. If anything, the most high-profile recent examples of fraud have tended to involve Republican voters. Yet former President Donald Trump and other Republicans have repeatedly and falsely claimed otherwise.
In truth, the spate of “election integrity” laws over the past decade are mostly a response to Barack Obama’s presidential victories. They created a consensus, among both parties, that Democrats benefited from high turnout (which may not be true). Republicans in many states have responded by trying to make voting harder, especially in cities and heavily Black areas — through onerous identification requirements, reduced voting hours, reduced access to early voting and more.
The new Georgia law largely fits this pattern. It is a response by Republican legislators and Gov. Brian Kemp to their party’s close losses there in the 2020 elections. The law reduces hours for absentee voting, increases ID requirements, and limits the distribution of water and food to voters waiting in line.
One provision seems obviously targeted at Atlanta, the Democrats’ most important source of votes: a new limit on absentee-ballot drop boxes. It is likely to reduce the number of drop boxes in metropolitan Atlanta to fewer than 25, from 94 last year. (My colleagues Nick Corasaniti and Reid Epstein have written a helpful summary of the law.)
“There is no rational motivation for the passage of its new election law other than demonstrating fealty to the false claims elevated by Trump,” The Washington Post’s Philip Bump wrote. Perry Bacon Jr. of FiveThirtyEight put it this way: “The enactment of this law in that state is a particularly alarming sign that the Republican Party’s attacks on democratic norms and values are continuing and in some ways accelerating.”

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is reportedly requiring donors attending a spring retreat in Florida to have negative COVID-19 tests, despite GOP Governor Ron DeSantis banning "vaccine passports" in the state.
Wealthy donors were sent an email from the RNC informing them of the requirement days before they were expected to attend an elite event featuring former President Donald Trump in Palm Beach later this week, according to The Washington Examiner. The move comes as Republicans nationwide push back on efforts from businesses and other entities to require proof of either vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results amid the pandemic.
"Proof of a negative COVID-19 test result is required in order to receive your credentials for the weekend," the email stated, while specifying that either PCR or rapid antigen tests be used, according to the paper.
"If you or members in your party fail to fulfill this requirement, you will be denied entry to the 2021 RNC Spring Retreat," it continued.

DeSantis issued an executive order banning vaccine passports in Florida while citing concerns about "individual freedom" on Friday, although the order did not ban entities from requiring negative COVID-19 test results. Some of the so-called passports, like New York state's Excelsior Pass, require either proof of vaccination or negative test results in order to enter certain large venues.

Some airlines are moving towards requiring the passports, while multiple countries already require prospective travelers to present proof of vaccination or negative test results. A document that is effectively a vaccine passport, the World Health Organization's "yellow card," has existed for many decades prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. At least 17 countries in Africa and South America require travelers to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever in order to gain entry.
President Joe Biden has made it clear that the federal government will neither mandate vaccines for U.S. citizens nor be involved in vaccine passports. DeSantis has spearheaded a movement by Republicans to ban vaccine passports at the state level. Texas became the second state to ban the passports following an executive order issued by GOP Governor Greg Abbott on Monday.

Although the RNC is not requiring proof of vaccination for those who attend this year's retreat, the requirement for negative test results appears to be somewhat at odds with the Republican push against mandates for documentation concerning COVID-19.
A portion of the RNC retreat will be held at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, which is also the residence of the former president. The resort was forced to partially close down last month after staff members tested positive for COVID-19. Trump contracted the virus last year and recovered, before both he and former first lady Melania Trump were vaccinated in January.
