Rush Limbaugh receives Presidential Medal of Freedom at Trump's State of the Union address

A visibly stunned Rush Limbaugh was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom at President Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday night, in an emotional moment one day after the conservative talk radio legend announced he was diagnosed with cancer.
"Almost every American family knows the pain when a loved one is diagnosed with a serious illness. Here tonight is a special man, someone beloved by millions of Americans who just received a Stage 4 advanced cancer diagnosis. This is not good news, but what is good news is that he is the greatest fighter and winner that you will ever meet," Trump told the radio giant, who appeared to be in tears. "Rush Limbaugh: Thank you for your decades of tireless devotion to our country."
He continued, "Rush, in recognition of all that you have done for our Nation, the millions of people a day that you speak to and that you inspire, and all of the incredible work that you have done for charity, I am proud to announce tonight that you will be receiving our country's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I will now ask the First Lady of the United States to present you with the honor."

Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar Stay Seated While Tuskegee Airman Is Honored with Standing Ovation

As a divided Washington took an emotional moment Tuesday night to honor one of the last remaining heroes of World War II, two progressive lawmakers appeared unwilling to join in honoring one of the last surviving members of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen.
Video from President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address shows Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan seated while other Democrats — who throughout the speech mostly refused to join Republicans in applauding Trump — stood to honor Charles McGee.

Totally appalling behavior from these two.. 100yrold Tuskegee Airman was promoted to honorary General. Gen. McGee was there with his grandson .. please note Gen McGee is an Afro - American and his group were the first blacks to fly for the military. Their outstanding service went above and beyond the call of duty.

These two muslim radicals have always called for minorities to be treated fairly and with respect.. but I guess this WAR HERO didn't meet their 'standards' for someone they should respect nor honor.

shameful acts.. they should be held accountable for these actions ( or LACK there of )

SALUTE General Charles McGee and to his whole family! You ARE the best!

Mitt Romney to break with GOP and vote to remove Trump from office
Sen. Mitt Romney will vote Wednesday to convict President Donald Trump of abuse of power, arguing the president violated the trust of the American people and the authority of his office for his own personal and political benefit.

The Utah senator is expected to be the only Republican to vote guilty on the first article of impeachment, and Romney says he knows the “enormous” repercussions he’ll face from the president, members of his own party and Trump supporters.

Romney insists he had no choice.

Trump wants people who depend on Obamacare to relax. They do so at great peril.

If you have an expensive health condition, and you don’t know much about President Trump’s record on health care, then his Tuesday night State of the Union address was reassuring.

“I have also made an ironclad pledge to American families,” Trump claimed. “We will always protect patients with preexisting conditions.”

The bad news for people with preexisting conditions is that this “ironclad pledge” is a lie. Trump and his administration have fought hard — in all three branches of government — to strip people with preexisting health conditions of the protections they enjoy under the Affordable Care Act. Indeed, if Trump has his way, those protections will cease to exist.

Obamacare provides that insurers in the individual health insurance market must cover people with preexisting conditions, and it forbids those insurers from charging higher premiums to people with such conditions — a practice known as “community rating.”

The executive branch cannot, acting on its own, eliminate community rating altogether. But the Trump administration has fought hard to undermine it. In 2018, for example, it handed down a rule expanding the use of short term insurance plans to that do not cover many services, and that may exclude people with preexisting conditions.

The mere existence of these plans can drive up premiums for people with expensive preexisting conditions, because these skimpy plans will lure healthy consumers away from more generous plans. That risks creating a segregated market. Healthy consumers will buy cheap, watered-down plans, while people with expensive medical conditions will be concentrated into much more expensive plans.

In Congress, meanwhile, Trump supported legislation seeking to repeal Obamacare or drastically water down its protections. One bill backed by Trump, the American Health Care Act, would have allowed many insurers to charge higher premiums — potentially prohibitively high premiums — to patients with preexisting conditions.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration is currently asking the courts to repeal Obamacare almost in its entirety. If the courts ultimately embrace the administration’s position, that will mean that all of Obamacare’s protections for people with preexisting conditions will be struck down.

Trump, it’s worth noting, has a history of claiming that he will protect Americans’ access to health care, then pushing policies that would strip health coverage from millions of Americans. He claimed in 2015, for example, to be the “first & only potential GOP candidate to state there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid,” but his 2020 budget proposal would cut Medicaid spending by $1.5 trillion over the next decade.

He had a chance to beat Obama..bUT instead he backed down during the debate like a total wimp.

He picked a running mate of Paul 'Crying' Ryan that went on to be speaker and folded to EVERY chance he had to put Obama in his place and 'repeal and replace' that failed bill that we had to "pass to understand" what was in the ACA.

He isn't well liked in the true Conservative Republican circles and has bent to go against the President.

He is a four time loser and has worn out his welcome. Plans are in the works in Utah to recall and oust him from the party...

I'm sure he will find another job on the "fake news" TV circuit, like CNN-MSNBCpms - WaPo 0r the failing NYT.

Good riddance Mitt, you shot yourself in the foot on this one.

You hear him saying all these big words but you can tell by looking at him that he has no idea what half of them actually mean.
It is like he learned them phonetically and simply repeats them.
