FBI Agent Who Discovered Clinton Emails on Weiner Laptop Reportedly Says He Got Stunning Orders
Insider details could prove suspicions that conservatives — including President Donald Trump — have expressed about partisan bias within the inner workings of James Comey’s FBI amid the 2016 presidential election.
Last week, The Washington Post shared an excerpt from reporter Devlin Barrett’s recently published book, “October Surprise: How the FBI Tried to Save Itself and Crashed an Election,” detailing special agent John Robertson’s account of investigating Anthony Weiner’s laptop.
Robertson was the agent who in September 2016 discovered “hundreds of thousands of Abedin’s emails” on Weiner’s laptop, according to the book excerpt, “including many that were to or from Clinton.” At the time, Weiner was the estranged husband of Abedin, who was one of Clinton’s top aides.
This, of course, was well beyond the 30,000 emails which Comey, in a July 2016 news conference, said Clinton had provided to the State Department and which the FBI investigated in relation to its probe of her use of a private email server as secretary of state.
Yet in response, Robertson’s superior reportedly told him to scrub his computer.
In late September, Robertson was investigating Weiner’s communications with a 15-year-old girl when he stumbled upon emails between Abedin and Clinton.
Now, we all should remember the shocking conclusion Comey came to during his news conference that summer regarding the investigation into Clinton’s private email server and the transfer of classified information over that server.
“As a result, although the Department of Justice makes final decisions on matters like this, we are expressing to Justice our view that no charges are appropriate in this case,” Comey said at the time, according to an FBI transcript of his remarks.
Robertson knew the gravity of what he found, and flagged the emails to his supervisors, according to the book.
When nothing happened, he reportedly paid a visit to Amanda Kramer, one of the prosecutors on the Weiner case.
“When he got to Kramer’s office on Oct. 19, she asked him, ‘What’s up?’ Sitting in a chair, Robertson exhaled deeply and began talking, his knee pumping much of the time. He had told his bosses about the Clinton emails weeks ago. Nothing had happened,” Barrett writes.
“Or rather, the only thing that had happened was his boss had instructed Robertson to erase his computer work station. Ostensibly, that was to ensure there was no classified material on it. But it also meant there was no record of what Robertson had done, or had not done, with the laptop information.”
On top of that, Kramer and fellow prosecutor Stephanie Lake reportedly told Robertson that if he shared the emails with any outsiders, he could face criminal consequences.
“The prosecutors, Kramer and Lake, thought Robertson was getting paranoid. They also gave him a blunt warning: If Robertson decided to tell outsiders about the emails, he could be prosecuted,” according to the book. “The legal rationale behind such a scenario is faulty at best — the fact of the emails’ existence on the laptop was not classified. If Robertson had decided to tell a lawmaker or a reporter about them, that could be a fireable offense, but probably not a criminal one.”
Of course, if 30,000 emails were worth investigating, then surely hundreds of thousands would be.
According to Barrett, it was “despite Robertson’s doubts, or perhaps because of them,” that the information finally reached Comey.
In late October, Comey notified Congress that Clinton’s case had been reopened, though he received much scrutiny for making such an announcement so close to Election Day.
Barrett’s reporting is obviously a terrible look for Comey’s FBI.
Trump has long been claiming that the intelligence community, especially the FBI, was biased against him during the 2016 campaign.
This report — particularly the allegation Robertson’s boss had him scrub his work station after the agent found hundreds of thousands of Abedin’s emails — certainly doesn’t help the FBI’s defense.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden unscripted may be the party’s worst nightmare, and may also explain why his campaign called an early lid at a 50% clip the past two weeks.
The 77-year-old former vice president was speaking at a recent event in Tampa, Fla., sans a teleprompter, and explained to the room why he was able to stay sequestered throughout much of the coronavirus pandemic — reasoning that may offer a glimpse into how the Democrat really sees black Americans.
“The reason I was able to stay sequestered in my home was because some black woman was able to stack the grocery shelves,” Biden says at one point.
Surprisingly — or not — the comment was all but ignored by the mainstream media.

It’s almost as if Biden has a preset notion about what people of color can accomplish in life.
A montage of other remarks from the event was making the rounds on social media — to include his nonsensical comment about a quartermaster running a department store.
Biden said, “Cause if you could take care, if you were a quartermaster, you can sure in hell take care runnin’ a, you know, a department store uh, thing, you know, where, in the second floor of the ladies department or whatever, you know what I mean?”
Turns out, this isn’t the first time Joe Biden has talked about minorities “stacking” grocery shelves.
He made a similar remark in July while detailing his plan to advance racial equity in the U.S., as he spoke about the late Congressman John Lewis.
“He asked that we stay focused on the work left undone to heal this nation. To remain undaunted by the public health crisis and the economic crisis, taking the blinders off in this crisis and showed the systemic racism for what it is, that plagues this nation,” Biden said. “People have seen now, most people allowed them to shelter in place. All those folks risking their lives, stacking the shelves in the supermarkets, farming the food, getting it to our tables. All those folks, most of whom are black and brown.”
But, as we saw with Biden’s interview with Charlamagne tha God on “The Breakfast Club,” the media is going to run cover for him when he makes controversial remarks centered on race.
It was then that the Democratic candidate declared, “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”
This may also help explain why the nickname “Hidin’ Joe Biden” is resonating with many voters.
One social media user summed up Biden’s latest remark well when they commented on YouTube, “Biden hasn’t lost a step, he’s lost the whole staircase…”

Biden Exposed In Massive Worldwide Corruption Scandal
Last year, Democrats wrongly impeached Trump because he wanted to investigate a possible crime committed by Vice President Joe Biden over his son. Biden forced Ukraine to fire a prosecutor, who was investigating Hunter’s company. Democrats were willing to go nuclear to protect their future candidate. But now Joe’s back in the hot seat, as a new report is set to be released.
It was just a year ago this month that Democrats launched a campaign to ruin our democracy. Not only was their Ukrainian impeachment totally unwarranted (and some say illegal), it wasted our time as a little thing called the coronavirus started to spread from China. Democrats wasted valuable time and resources on impeaching Trump over a phone call—instead of preparing for the pandemic.
But we all remember why, right? Trump was seeking answers from Ukraine over what Joe Biden did while still vice president. Biden (who later bragged about it) threatened to withhold a billion dollars from Ukraine, unless they fired a prosecutor. It was later discovered that the prosecutor was investigating a company that employed Biden’s son, Hunter.
That should have raised numerous red flags, huh? Not quite. The Obama administration did nothing, nor did Congress at the time. Democrats tried to impeach Trump to cover all this up.
But now it seems all this is coming back to haunt Joe Biden, as the Senate is about to release a damning new report.
The GOP-led Senate Finance and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees plan to release a joint report as early as this week disclosing the results of a year-long probe into Joe Biden’s stewardship of Ukraine anti-corruption policy while his son earned big money as a board member at the corruption-plagued Burisma Holdings gas firm.
The report is expected to accuse the former vice president of engaging in a prohibited conflict of interest or the appearance of a conflict of interest by continuing to oversee the U.S. anti-corruption policies in Ukraine while his son served on the board of a natural gas company under investigation by the very Ukrainian prosecutors dependent on U.S. money, guidance and assistance in the fight against corruption that Joe Biden controlled. Even Obama-era State Department officials admitted that Biden’s actions created at least the appearance of a conflict of interest. That is enough to raise many serious questions about why Biden interfered with the Ukraine government.
This couldn’t come at a worse time for Biden. He is only months away from the election. The debates are coming up. You better believe Trump and his campaign are going to hammer him over this. Trump raised the alarm about this controversy a year ago—and Democrats impeached him over it!
Now we are seeing that there was evidence that Trump was right all along—that there was a conflict of interest where it appears Biden interfered in a foreign government to protect his son’s job.
Imagine the campaign ads!
This is reminiscent (as are so many things, these days) of the 2016 Election. Trump had been raising the alarm over Hillary Clinton’s shady email server. Democrats and the media tried to dismiss it. But right before the election, the FBI reopened the case to investigate new evidence (thanks to Anthony Weiner’s arrest). That only further condemned Clinton in the eyes of the public.
Now, it seems Biden will face a new barrage of questions and allegations, when this report is released. How is he going to explain away what a Senate committee calls a conflict of interest?
How is he going to answer the many accusations that will be raised by the Trump campaign?
Spoiler: he won’t be able to. You and I both know Biden did what he did to protect his son. No amount of explanation will erase that.
Perhaps it will be the single thing that destroys any chance at winning he has left.
