Which party adds more to deficits?
    Hint: it’s the Republicans

Tax Cuts Do Not Pay For Themselves

Both the Bush and Trump administrations argued that “tax cuts pay for themselves” as each passed significant tax cuts soon after taking office. The data suggests that this logic is faulty, as tax rates in the U.S. aren’t high enough to produce significant behavioral changes when they are reduced, and typical reductions aren’t large enough to have immediate impacts. Instead of spurring economic growth and thus more revenues, tax cuts simply increase budget deficits.
The discussion surrounding taxes and budget deficits tends to re-open every election season, as Republicans and even some Democrats worry about large deficits and a growing national debt.
While Republicans often claim that they are the more fiscally responsible party, my research suggests otherwise. Compared to Democratic presidents, Republicans are estimated to add between 0.75% and 1.2% more to the deficit (as a percent of GDP) each year they are in office. This result controls for economic conditions, and explains 75% of the variation in the annual changes to deficits.

This is one thing that is easily researched but the Republicans will never admit. It flies completely against what they are brainwashed to believe.

Re: Let the truth be known

I will say it again. What is in Trumps tax return that he is so afraid of? He claims to be richer than God, so we would expect lots of income. He claims to pay his share of taxes so if telling the truth, he shouldn't be afraid of that.

Yes, there is the right of privacy. Didn't he realize that becoming a publicly elected official, investigations are initiated to explore conflict of interests, outright lies and tax avoidance and should be done to protect the public's interest? Or did he just think we would give him Carte Blanche to do whatever he felt like to create wealth for himself and allies as a result of his office.

The other Presidents apparently had nothing to hide.

So once again, what is he trying to hide? There has to be something there.

C'mon Trump, are you a coward?
    I've proved mathematics wrong. 1 + 1 doesn't always equal 2.........

As long as the IRS is still auditing his returns he cannot release them.

What is a better question is what is in those returns that the Democrats are so afraid of. At any time after Trump announced he was running for President, Then President Obama could have instructed the IRS to complete the audits.

It's bullshit that he can't release his tax returns while under audit. Everyone knows that. He's a business failure, that's why he won't release them. In my opinion anyway

“Investigations are initiated to explore”.........in other words, they’re not investigating a crime that occurred, they’re HUNTING for something they could possibly paint as a crime. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense! It’d be like the cops coming to my house (even though I haven’t done anything) and then looking around until they found something that could be considered “criminal”. Get what I’m saying?

If there was something wrong with his taxes, the IRS would have sounded the alarm! They haven’t. No court cases. No charges. Not even a mention from them about something being fishy.
Past presidents have “voluntarily” given that information, but it’s NOT REQUIRED BY LAW!!
