As the cruise industry moves ever closer to resuming sailings out of North American ports, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has changed the language of its warning regarding the industry.

Now, rather than warning that cruise ships present a “very high” risk for all travelers, the agency says they present “high” risk to those who have not been vaccinated.

New York lawmakers are irate over the White House’s decision to renew the Canada border shutdown for yet another month.
Nonessential travel between Canada and the U.S. has been closed since March 2020, and the two nations have extended the closure on a month-to-month basis.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canada has not yet vaccinated enough of its residents to loosen restrictions.

"We’re still seeing cases across the country and we want to get them down," Trudeau said, according to The Associated Press. "At the same time we also know we have to hit our targets of 75% vaccinated with the first dose and at least 20% vaccinated with the second dose before we can start loosening things up because even a fully vaccinated individual can pass on COVID-19 to someone who is not vaccinated."

President Joe Biden took a cautious victory lap Friday in his quest to bring the COVID-19 pandemic under control, announcing that 300 million vaccine shots have been administered in the 150 days since he took office.

Biden credited scientists, companies, the American people and his whole-of-government effort on the milestone. The president noted that 65% of adults have received at least one shot, setting the stage for most Americans to have a relatively normal summer as businesses reopen and employers hire.

Defective COVID Vaccines Given to Nearly 900 People in NYC

Nearly 900 people in New York City were given expired doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to city health officials.
The New York City Health Department said 899 individuals were given an expired dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine between June 5 and June 10 at the former NFL Experience building in Times Square, the New York Post reported.
ATC Healthcare CEO David Savitsky sent out an emergency notice to the 899 patients who were erroneously injected to inform them of the situation.
“We are contacting you concerning the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine you received at Times Square – NFL Experience vaccination site on June 5 to June 10, 2021,” Savitsky said in an email to patients, according to the Post.
“It was recognized after the vaccine was administered, that it had been in the freezer beyond the approved time frame prior to it being administered.”

ATC Vaccination Services informed patients that they would need to get another shot because the firm “cannot guarantee the effectiveness” of the dose they received.
Savitsky said the “repeated dose” should be given “in the opposite arm” that received the expired dose.
“We have communicated with Pfizer, which recommended that the patients receive another dose as soon as possible,” a representative of the New York City Health Department said in a statement to Midtown-Hell’s Kitchen Patch.com.
“While there is no safety risk for the patients, the re-administration is being carried out to ensure that the individuals are fully protected.”
A dad of two teen daughters who were given the expired shots expressed his frustration after he received a phone call about the situation.
“The guy who called wasn’t even a doctor,” he told the New York Post on condition of anonymity.
“It’s a 6 day period of time!!!! Nobody noticed?!?!?”
Savitsky said patients can be revaccinated at any pharmacy or medical provider that offers the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
“This notice can be given to the provider to confirm why you need to receive an extra dose of vaccine,” Savitsky said.

“We apologize for any inconvenience or concern this may cause you.”
Appointments to receive the vaccine at the Time Square vaccination site are still being accepted on the city Health Department website.
Following the mix-up, ATC Vaccination Services has been replaced by a new provider at the site, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office.

That report and corresponding data were from a couple days ago (6/16/21), and pulled from Canadian news sites and health sources.
Now, after re-checking today, i see some of those same sources saying anywhere from 10 - 15% fully vaccinated. Which is better than 9%, but still WAYYY off the mark.
Don't you guys want to reach herd immunity up there? At this rate it's going to take you until next year to get to that 35 - 50% herd immunity range.

... I am eager to get my 2nd vaccination but I cannot do so yet because it is not yet my turn.

However you try and spin this, 61% of all Canadians have at least some form of protection against COVID.

You know if Canada had concentrated getting as many of its citizens fully vaccinated, they could be at around 34.51% fully vaccinated instead of 8.02%. Your liberal government has failed you.

You do know what the recommended time between pokes is?

According to the CDC:

• If you received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, you should get your second shot 3 weeks (or 21 days) after your first.
• If you received the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, you should get your second shot 4 weeks (or 28 days) after your first.

If you got the AZ poke and didn't die from the first, authorities had sought to vaccinate more people faster by stretching the gap between shots to 16 weeks, beyond the 12-week maximum approved by the European Medicines Agency. A 16-week interval has not been tested in human trials.

I believe that Canada was one of those that wanted to extend the time between pokes.

I have heard that a number of countries have once again halted the distribution of the AZ vaccine.

Explain to me why he is not mentioned by in the history of mRNA vaccines. A history that goes back to 1990.
