With relief on the brink, AOC fumes over checks being doled ‘ONLY’ to those with social sec numbers

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was called out for her ignorance after having a tantrum over COVID-19 relief checks headed to Americans.
The New York Democrat took to Twitter to rail against Senate Republicans for passing the $2.2 trillion stimulus package late Wednesday in response to the coronavirus pandemic and its devastating effect on the U.S. economy.

After more than five days of negotiations, as Democrats continued to delay and disagree over the bill’s details, the bipartisan legislation passed with promises of billions in small business aid, a deferment of student loan payments and $1,200 checks for Americans making up to $75,000.
But Ocasio-Cortez had a serious problem with the idea that the money was effectively being “cut off the backs of *taxpaying immigrants,* who get nothing,” and complaining that the one-time checks “are ONLY going to some w/social sec numbers, NOT immigrants w/ tax IDs.”
To clarify, $1200 checks are ONLY going to some w/social sec numbers, NOT immigrants w/ tax IDs (ITINs).
Thanks to GOP, these checks will be cut off the backs of *taxpaying immigrants,* who get nothing. Many are essential workers who pay more taxes than Amazon.
    Wall St gets $4T
    — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) March 26, 2020
While the self-proclaimed Democratic socialist found support from those with like-minded thinking, plenty of Twitter users slammed her take on the issue.

if you cut down on tweeting and actually advocate and legislate, maybe you wouldnt have as many complaints
instead, you read bills and get right on twitter to complain
your constituents deserve a lawmaker, not a social media influencer
    — #ByeByeBernie — Biden will be our 46th POTUS (@Glamuary) March 26, 2020
so much conflating, and nobody in the press calls her on her bullshit https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1243219664450314240
    — Curtis Woodard (@curtinsea) March 26, 2020
How do illegal immigrants pay taxes without a SSN? And what’s your math behind Wall St getting $4T. I hate Wall St as much as the next guy, but your math does not make sense. https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1243219664450314240
    — Hussain Abdul-Hussain 🇺🇸 (@hahussain) March 26, 2020
Ocasio-Cortez was not done, however, going on to call out President Donald Trump and Senate Republicans in a follow-up tweet.
What Trump + Senate GOP have done is hold hospitals, working people, and the vulnerable hostage so they could get in $500 billion (that will be leveraged into $4T) in corporate welfare.
Without the Wall St giveaway, GOP refuses to fund hospitals & unemployment. It’s inhumane.
    — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) March 26, 2020
What she failed to notice in her rant was quickly pointed out by Twitter users.

    Psst.
    The vote was 96-0.
There aren’t 96 Republicans in the Senate. https://t.co/9lycsIZ1ia
    — RBe (@RBPundit) March 26, 2020
The unanimous vote of 96-0 in the Senate included every single Democrat, a fact that Ocasio-Cortez apparently missed.
“This is a proud moment for the United States Senate and for the country, and we’re going to win this battle in the very near future,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said after the vote.
“We all know that not everyone is going to want every provision. We all know that so many things so many of us want are left out. But we all know we must do these things,” Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer said.
Twitter users were happy to torch Ocasio-Cortez for missing the obvious.

Uh it was 96-0 and your champion Bernie voted for it.

Some people in congress legislate and others just tweet.
    — Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) March 26, 2020

Little girl, sit down. The grownups have this.
    — Sharby (@LSNortheast) March 26, 2020
The GOP has a 96-0 majority in the Senate?🤔 https://t.co/XqNILI70Gq

Gallup Poll: Majority Of Americans Disapprove Of News Media Handling Of Wuhan Coronavirus

March 26, 2020 By Tristan Justice
Of nine leaders and institutions rated by Americans in a new poll on their response to the novel Wuhan Coronavirus, the media fared the worst, and it’s not even close.
According to a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the media was the only institution that scored a negative approval rating among the public with only 44 percent of Americans approving of the way the media has covered the virus. Fifty-five percent disapprove making for a -11 percent rating.
Gallup also gathered approval ratings for U.S. hospitals, schools and daycares, state governments, employers, government health agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Vice President Mike Pence, President Donald Trump, and Congress.
The next institution to score the lowest among the people was Congress, which garnered a 59 percent approval rating to 37 percent who reported disapproving. Trump landed a 60 percent approval rating to 38 percent saying otherwise.
The poll was conducted March 13-22 and surveyed a random sample of 1,020 adults through telephone interviews aged 18 and older in each state and the District of Columbia with a 4 percent margin of error.
Trump’s 22 percent net-positive rating marks a net-33 percent difference in public views towards the president and the media in present moment of crisis, and for good reason.
Last week, as the states began to issue “shelter-in-place” orders putting one in three Americans on lockdown to prevent the further spread of the Wuhan virus, the media parroted Chinese Communist Party propaganda and remained fixated on whether the president referencing where the virus came from was racist.
“Why do you keep calling it the Chinese virus?” one reporter asked the president during a White House press briefing on the pandemic.
“Because it comes from China,” Trump said plainly. “It’s not racist at all… It comes from China. That’s why. It comes from China. I want it to be accurate.”
President Trump asked again why he uses the phrase “Chinese Virus”:

The same kind of exchange was during the press briefings throughout the week, as woke media elites took the bait from the Chinese government charging the term “Wuhan virus” as offensive earlier this month.
“We condemn the despicable practice of U.S. politicians eagerly stigmatizing China and Wuhan by association with the novel [Wuhan] coronavirus, disrespecting science and WHO,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang.
The media has since decried use of the same language they employed themselves at the start of the outbreak.
Liberal media pundits want you to think referring to the coronavirus as the "Wuhan" or "Chinese" virus is racist.

A couple of things to remember.
    1. If you go to shop at any store, you are not only exposing yourself to whatever everyone at that store when you are there has but also to everyone who was there previously and touched surfaces to include food cans, bottles, packages and other containers. Also fresh fruits and vegetables may have been picked up and looked at then set back down by any number of other customers.
    2. Fast food service employees are required by health department regulations to wear protective gloves and to change them frequently and this was in place long before COVID19. It was intended originally to prevent potential food poisoning cross contamination.
    3. Many fast food locations have now set up where insteas of handing you food through the pickup window they come out and place the food in your back seat thus reducing person to person contact.

They just started that here in Angier, the girl at the order screen asked I wanted it delivered... I just had the set it on the 2nd window ledge for me to pick up... they have a scanner at the outside line for the "tap n pay" cards. I didn't feel putting my large coffee in the back seat would be a good idea for me. I can see where that might be very good for other orders

But..... Everyone forgets about air quality and forgets to clean or monitor their airconditioning systems.

I went into a supermarket in a town further up the coast from my location.
The acid smell in the air of the supermarket remind me of aged persons underware.
The air in the supermarket began to burn my eyes. I said to the missus " get what you need and let's get out."

There is a military base not far from the supermarket. I assumed the smell was air-bourne syphillus bacteria.
I've experienced the same acid smell in the air conditioner of some other clinical offices over the years.

I've even said to office staff "I believe the dank acid eye burning smell in your air-conditioning might be syph bacteria."

Someone has to cut through the nice-an-pleasantries an say something for the health of every other person going into the clinic or office....
