CDC warns lawmakers that delta variant is as contagious as chickenpox and may make people sicker than original Covid
- The CDC warned the new delta variant sweeping across the country is as contagious as chickenpox, has a longer transmission window than the original Covid-19 strain and may make older people sicker.
- Delta, already the dominant form of the disease in the United States, is more transmissible than the common cold, the 1918 Spanish flu, smallpox, Ebola, and MERS and SARS, according to a CDC document.
- Health officials said federal and state leaders should communicate to the public the benefits of getting vaccinated.
ffs do you really believe this rubbish, we have the delta variant here to and supermarkets along with public transport are now saying mask wearing is a personal choice, we are distancing ourselves from this doom and gloom nonsense and trying to get on with it, as I am sure others are.
This thread will become an echo chamber for you and BSM as no-one is really interested.
When you think you have made a procedure idiot proof your company employs a better idiot.

The COVID pandemic spreading quickly amongst the unvaccinated is very serious.
Florida is now the COVID epicenter in the USA despite the Republican Governor's attempts to misdirect and deny the medical science. All Florida counties are now flagged as severe risk. Florida has long been a beacon for elderly retirees and the are most at risk.
A new study shows the Delta Covid-19 variant produced similar amounts of virus in vaccinated and unvaccinated people if they get infected -- illustrating a key motivation behind the federal guidance that now recommends most fully vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors.
Experts say that vaccination makes it less likely that you'll catch Covid-19 in the first place -- but for those who do, this data suggests they could have a similar tendency to spread it as unvaccinated folks.
"High viral loads suggest an increased risk of transmission and raised concern that, unlike with other variants, vaccinated people infected with Delta can transmit the virus," Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said in a statement Friday.
