Someone who has the patience to deal with IT staff who always thing every problem is caused by the machine. Users are often the cause of half of my problems.....
If it works, don't touch it.
I hear you about the IT people always blaming the machine. I love the look on their face when I hook up my laptop and print or scan without any issues. Or when I have my Kon/Min IT guy go out and change one setting and everything works fine. Makes them look so stupid (which most are) ha-ha. Most of them know very little and Google everything! And if you really want to see angry IT people, when the big companies tell them they are now responsible for working on the printers. God forbid if these guys get their hands dirty !!!!

Yea useless. Had to go out on a Sunday afternoon yesterday because the IT guy decided to change the IP range.
Knew he buggered the machine and the scanning tried for a minute gave up and scrammed.
Could have phone me you know.
Whatever
Basically the desire to work AND learn new things. An unskilled tech with a desire to learn is a step in the right direction.
NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING
Someone who isn't so danged lazy they continually refuse to do the minimum call procedure and clean the damn machine!! It isn't frickin' rocket science!!
Other than that, others have already had good answers.

Started in the copier service business in the fall of 1988 and worked at the same company for 33.5 years, becoming the senior tech in 2004 but left to pursue another career on 4/29/22.
