anyone here know how to make FAST ALCOHOL "not for drinking"??

FYI, most high school chemistry labs have a still. If you know someone you might be able to borrow one. I remember a couple of seniors who one year had a jug of hard cider and ran it through the still. Ended up with about 150 proof. Quick question, do you know how to tell when your cider is ready? When you hear the cork hit the cake pan.

Allen's suggestion is the best if you already have the crap booze.

CDC recommends at least 60% which is 120 proof. The closest OTC adult beverage that I know is Smirnoff Black Label, 100 proof. In a pinch it will work, you just have to use a little more.

Its slightly more complex than just evaporating the alcohol due to the intricacies of physics and a thing called an azeotrope. As already mentioned, the device used to safely concentrate alcohol is called a still. They do not need to be complex but must have at least a couple attributes:

A vessel in which to gently boil the liquid that has an outlet that feeds a condenser to return the vapour back into a liquid.

There is something called a conical or wok still. It is a pot to put your low alcohol liquid in, a stainless bowl that will float inside to pot without drifting too far off Centre and a larger round bottom bowl or wok that will act as a cover for the pot. You put ice in the large bowl or wok and the concentrated alcohol collects in the smaller one floating inside. Needs to perked in upon periodically to prevent overfilling and sinking the small bowl. Do not try this on a gas range, electric only.

Well i did find some some brugal 151 from the dominican republic i bought years back.So will 75% alcohol work safely?

I was in my local Lowes hardware store yesterday and they had plenty of the alcohol used for stoves.

It is potent enough to use as a cleaner and sanitizer.

70-75% is enough...but after searching what brugal 151 is. Don't waste it outside, use as per usual

I bought years ago and dont drink booze anymore..
I still will enjoy a glass of red wine but 151 would have me walking the streets like a lost zombie...

i looked at lowes but where they have the laquer thinner and paints an no alcohol...
maybe i will ck it out again
