‘Incredibly Troubling,’ ‘Deeply Disturbed’: Canadian Lawmakers React To Biden Energy Policy

Canadian lawmakers, including the country’s prime minister, bashed the United States on Wednesday after President Joe Biden rescinded a permit for a pipeline to ship oil from Canada to the Gulf Coast.
Biden took office on Wednesday and, as one of his first acts, rescinded approval for the Keystone XL pipeline that former President Donald Trump had green-lighted in 2017. The pipeline has long been a target of environmental activists and Democratic politicians looking to stop the use of fossil fuels.

“While we welcome the President’s commitment to fight climate change, we are disappointed but acknowledge the President’s decision to fulfill his election campaign promise on Keystone XL,” Trudeau said in a statement, according to the New York Post.
“Canada is the single-largest supplier of energy to the United States, contributing to U.S. energy security and economic competitiveness, and supporting thousands of jobs on both sides of the border,” he continued. “Workers in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and across Canada will always have our support.”
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said he was “deeply disturbed” by Biden’s decision to stop work on the $8 billion project. Kenney had threatened legal action earlier in the week after reports of Biden’s intent to kill the pipeline surfaced.
This is a gut punch for the Canadian and Alberta economies. Sadly it is an insult directed at the United States’ most important ally and trading partner,” Kenney told a news conference, according to Reuters.
TC Energy Corp., an Alberta-based company, announced it had suspended work on the Keystone XL pipeline on Wednesday ahead of Biden’s inauguration and in anticipation of the U.S. president’s revocation of the pipeline’s permit. Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said at the time that TC Energy’s suspension of work was “incredibly troubling.”
“Now is the time for our nations to strengthen our trading relationship, not erect further barriers to collaborative and sustainable development,” Moe said in a statement, according to the Financial Post.

The Keystone Pipeline System runs from Alberta, Canada, through North Dakota to oil refineries in Illinois and Texas. The Keystone XL addition is under construction in Canada and would have carried over 830,000 barrels of crude oil a day from Canada through North Dakota to Nebraska. From Nebraska, existing pipelines would carry the crude to refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Biden’s first term began on Wednesday with a slew of executive actions after he was inaugurated on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. As The Daily Wire reported:
Biden took the oath in front of three former presidents, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, the full Supreme Court, now-former Vice President Mike Pence, as well as his wife and family, including his embattled son, Hunter. Now-former President Donald Trump departed the White House early Wednesday morning and was on his way to his estate in Florida during the swearing-in ceremony.

Biden’s oath of office effectively ends nearly two months of controversy over his election, with the now-former president, Trump, insisting that he, actually, prevailed in the November contest but was denied his second term by widespread vote fraud. He acknowledged Biden as the next president only in January, after a number of Trump supporters stormed the United States Capitol after a rally in Washington, D.C., leaving five people dead and dozens injured.

Mike Huckabee: It's Day 2 and Biden Is Already Becoming a Disaster for Democrats

Immediately upon taking office, President Biden started issuing a flurry of executive orders to undo President Trump’s legacy (of success).
They include halting the financing of the border wall (walls provide security at inaugurals, but apparently not at borders), rejoining the World Health Organization (which has really distinguished itself during the pandemic), including non-citizens in the Census count and other things I tried to warn you about before the election.
But some of these reversals might not be so easy.

Remember, I predicted that his biggest enemy won’t be Republicans; it will be reality.
Democrats have publicly railed against Trump’s “evil” policies for years while enjoying the benefits they brought, including strong job creation, rising wages, Middle East peace and cheap and abundant fuel.

Now, Biden is poised to undo those policies, but at the expense of losing all the benefits they never gave Trump credit for.
If he were smart, he’d find a way to keep the policies and claim them as his own by calling them “new and improved, now with more liberal compassion!” or something like that.

But nobody ever claimed he was a genius.
Instead, Biden seems bent on mindlessly reversing everything, but he might meet more resistance than he thought.

I told you that before he even took office, labor unions and other Democrats were already pushing back against his plan to kill the Keystone oil pipeline project (because it’s so much better for the environment to move oil by truck, train and ship).
Then, immediately upon taking office, he signed an order to put America back into the economy-crippling Paris climate accords despite the fact that under Trump, America reduced its CO2 emissions more than any nations that remained in it.
I’ve said that both it and Biden’s reimposing of the Iran nuclear deal will likely be met with legal challenges because they are plainly treaties, which require two-thirds Senate approval.

As risky as it is to depend on the courts, Biden is already meeting resistance there.
A court has blocked his Department of Health and Human Services from forcing Catholic doctors to perform transgender surgeries.

If enough lawsuits are filed, Biden’s agenda could be blocked in the courts until Republicans can take back Congress and the White House.
Before Democrats start crying foul over that, I’ll point out that we learned it from them. It’s exactly the way they stymied Trump’s agenda for four years.
Only they relied on liberal activist judges who ignored the Constitution. We’ll have to seek out judges who’ll defend it.

Yeah GREAT timing SnifferJoe! Thanks from a diabetic!

Biden Pauses Trump Executive Order Discounting Insulin Prices for Low-Income Americans

The Biden administration has placed a freeze on implementing a Department of Health and Human Services regulatory rule put in place under President Donald Trump that requires community health centers to charge low-income patients the acquisition price for insulin and EpiPens.
“HHS signed off on the rule in December, shortly before former President Donald Trump left office. It aims to lower patients’ out-of-pocket costs by forcing community clinics to pass on their 340B drug discounts,” Modern Healthcare reported Thursday.
Health centers that did not comply with the rule would be blocked from receiving federal grant funds.

On Dec. 30, the HHS Office of the General Counsel released an advisory legal opinion concluding the rule could be implemented.
“The 340B Program requires drug manufacturers (in exchange for coverage of drugs under Medicaid) to offer substantial discounts to ‘covered entities,’ which include safety net hospitals, community health centers, and other institutions that serve vulnerable populations,” the department said in a news release.

Then-HHS Secretary Alex Azar said at the time, “President Trump has been steadfastly devoted to lowering drug prices for American patients, and that includes ensuring that drug companies are offering the discounts they’re legally required to give to providers that serve the vulnerable.”
In a July news release announcing the proposed change in response to a Trump executive order, HHS said the rule would “increase access to life-saving insulin and epinephrine for the patients who face especially high costs among the 28 million patients who visit [federally qualified health centers] every year, over six million of whom are uninsured.” There's where I fit in.

The Health and Human Services rule was slated to take effect Friday but has been delayed, pending a review by the Biden administration, until March 22, Modern Healthcare reported.

The pause in implementing the drug pricing discount to patients is part of a larger regulatory freeze issued by White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain on Wednesday, President Joe Biden’s first day in office.
A memo from Klain directed all heads of departments and executive agencies to consider postponing rules’ effective dates for 60 days.
The document did provide for exceptions for “emergency situations or other urgent circumstances relating to health, safety, environmental, financial, or national security matters.”

Trump made a priority out of lowering prescription drug prices for Americans.

The Associated Press reported prices fell in 2018 for the first time in 45 years.
In September, Trump signed an executive order to create a “most favored nation” drug pricing system for Medicare.
The order required that Medicare pay no more for a drug than the lowest price in countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

CNN Fact Check Finds Biden's Vaccine Claim Is False

President Joe Biden made a false claim about the media response to his plans to deliver 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccine in the first 100 days of his administration, according to a CNN fact check Friday.
Biden took office claiming that he would far outstrip the efforts of former President Donald Trump to vaccinate Americans against the virus. Part of that was his claim in December that he would achieve what he characterized as a lofty goal of 100 million Americans vaccinated in the first 100 days of his presidency.
On Thursday, Associated Press reporter Zeke Miller asked Biden if the goal was “high enough,” since “that’s basically where the U.S. is right now.”
“When I announced it you all said it wasn’t possible. Come on, give me a break, man,” Biden snapped back. “It’s a good start, a hundred million.”

But CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale said the president had it wrong.

“Biden’s claim is false; it’s not true that there was an initial media consensus that the 100 million goal was impossible. Some of the early news coverage of the goal did not even question whether it was plausible,” Dale wrote.
He noted that CNN’s own medical experts thought the goal was within reach. At the time, Dr. Sanjay Gupta called the goal “very doable,” Dale said, and medical analyst Dr. Jorge Rodriguez said it was “a realistic goal.”
Some at the time said Biden was aiming too low.
Overall, Dale wrote in the fact-check of Biden, “There might well be someone at some media outlet who did say that administering 100 million doses in 100 days was not possible. But Biden told the journalists in the State Dining Room that ‘you all said’ it was impossible, and that’s clearly not true.”

CNN reported that the White House had no official comment about Biden’s claim.
“A Biden aide said on the condition of anonymity that the President was referring to early media coverage that was skeptical about the goal, not saying the goal had been described by the media as ‘literally impossible,'” it said.
The issue of whether the goal was ever really a stretch has emerged because the U.S. is vaccinating more than 900,000 people per day under a vaccination plan developed by the Trump administration and implemented by states and localities.

Bloomberg reported that two former Trump administration officials familiar with the details of Operation Warp Speed — the Trump administration’s effort to vaccinate Americans — said the Biden goal is low.
Trump administration projections estimated that enough vaccine will be available to vaccinate about 170 million people by the end of April, the officials said.
But Biden’s administration is still portraying the goal as a challenge.

“We have looked carefully and we are confident that we have enough vaccines for the 100 million doses over the next 100 days,” Rochelle Walensky, the incoming director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said, according to Bloomberg. “That’s what the president-elect has promised. It will be a hefty lift, but we have it in us to do that.”
As of December, the Trump administration had purchased 200 million vaccine doses from Pfizer, according to a release from the Department of Health and Human Services.

sure SnifferJoe just sit there with your thumb up you ass! Trump was on it in the first 10days!

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden...urce=housefile

President Joe Biden was slammed on Friday after stating during a press conference that there was “nothing” his administration could do to “change the trajectory of the pandemic over the next several months,” which comes after he campaigned on ending the pandemic.
Biden made the remarks about not being able to change the course of the pandemic over the next several months while talking about his “American Rescue Plan,” and how millions of Americans could lose their homes unless urgent action is taken. As The New York Times reported, Biden issued a series of executive orders on his first full day in office and pledged to wage a “full-scale wartime effort” to combat the pandemic. On Friday, he issued two more orders “aimed at steering additional federal aid to families struggling to afford food amid the pandemic and helping workers stay safe on the job,” the paper reported.

Re: Just how Sleepy is Joe Hiden ???

President Biden began his presidency with a disturbing inauguration speech that signaled his administration will target any political opponents who reject his radical agenda. This would be a continuation of Obama-era practices, which saw the Obama IRS, DOJ, FBI, CIA, etc. used to target Obama opponents ranging from small citizen Tea Party groups to then-candidate Donald Trump. Indeed, that virtually no ordinary Americans were allowed to view the proceedings in person thanks to a politicized military shutdown of our nation’s capital doesn’t augur well for this Republic and our civil liberties.

And then Biden immediately undermined the rule of law by shutting down virtually all deportations and essentially ending all enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws. You can read the details here.

And, of course, Biden’s mere presence in office is a challenge to the rule of law because of his personal corruption issues.

There is substantial evidence, from documents and witness statements, that the Biden family, including President Joe Biden, may have been involved in criminal activity involving, among other issues, foreign entities tied to Ukraine and China.

Joe Biden's son Hunter has already acknowledged that he is the target of an FBI criminal investigation. (Judicial Watch was the first to document that Hunter took five trips to China while his father was vice president!)

A special counsel should immediately be appointed because the Biden Justice Department is conflicted in investigating any matter that could implicate President Biden or his immediate family. The fact that it hasn’t happened yet tells you a lot about the partisan corruption of the Justice Department and FBI.

To increase pressure for the rule of law and to educate more Americans, Judicial Watch created a petition on Change.org calling on the Department of Justice to create a special counsel to investigate the Biden Family. Our petition continues to grow! More than 85,000 have signed, and you can too here. Be sure also to share it widely. Achieving one million signatures is within our reach!

In the meantime, you can trust Judicial Watch to do what it does best – which is to use the courts to hold corrupt politicians such as Joe Biden accountable to the law. We have dozens of lawsuits and hundreds of Freedom of Information Act requests already pending – and more are coming. For example, we are NOT going to forget about the Obama/Biden spy abuse and other sedition against the Trump administration and the Constitution.
