it looks like they already drained the case of sulfuric acid before hand, BUT there was an amount of fluid (the acid) that he just threw on the ground. Sulfuric Acid does burn skin.. Don't ask how I know.

It may bubble a little as it reacts with the moisture is the skin. High school science experiment accident.
