    Anyways, finished with this discussion.
It takes a real low-life of a man to accuse me of wishing death on anyone. It's not really surprising, though, because you and the rest of the loony liberals accused Trump of murdering folks two minutes after he was elected. Your hate has caused you to go off the deep end, trans lover.

The democrat party is rotten to the core. Pelosi is profiting from insider trading and now this:

Maxine Waters has given over $1 million in campaign cash to daughter

U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., has cashed in more than $1 million for her daughter through her campaigns since 2003, according to federal election data.

Karen Waters received over $1.1 million for her services with her mother’s campaigns -- $250,000 of which came from the most recent election cycle, reported the Federal Election Commission.

MAXINE WATERS’ CAMPAIGN PAID HER DAUGHTER $240G OVER 2019-20 ELECTION CYCLE, FEC RECORDS SHOW

The daughter of the California Democrat organized slate-mailing operations to bolster her mother's re-election.

Slate-mailing is an uncommon practice in federal elections, where a consulting firm is hired to create a pamphlet of sorts that contains a list of candidates or policy measures, and advises voters how to cast their ballots.

Rep. Waters was reportedly the only federal politician to use a slate-mailer operation during the 2020 general election.

Though the practice is not all together that uncommon in the state of California, who has seen politicians like Gov. Gavin Newsom use the campaigning method. Vice President Kamala Harris also used slate-mailers during her 2017 Senate campaign.

But Waters' daughter isn’t the only family member who has profited from her time in congressional campaigns.

A 2004 report by the Los Angeles Times found that various members of Waters' family had received over $1 million during the previous eight years, from businesses and campaigns relating to the congresswoman.

"They do their business and I do mine," Waters said during the time. "We are not bad

Waters made over 30 payments to her daughter during the 2020 campaign cycle, the funds largely going to Slate Mailer Management Fees. Though canvassing and office expenses were also listed in the FEC records.

There were another two payments directed at Karen Walker for "GOTV" services. Though details of what was involved in the operation are not listed, it is possible "GOTV" could stand for "Get out the vote."

Lincoln Project to Sue Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump and Steve Bannon Over Capitol Riot Claims

Steve Schmidt, a co-founder of the Lincoln Project, announced on Saturday that the political action committee will take legal action against Rudy Giuliani, former President Donald Trump and Steve Bannon over defamatory remarks about the Capitol riot.

During a Friday interview on Steve Bannon's War Room podcast, Giuliani alleged that the insurrection from pro-Trump supporters was organized by a person with ties to the Lincoln Project.

"I don't know if I can reveal his name," Giuliani said. "Because we have that from anonymous sources. But he worked in the past for [Utah Senator Mitt] Romney."

MSNBC host Ali Velshi played a segment from Giuliani's appearance on Bannon's podcast on Saturday morning. "That was some crazy nonsense Rudy Giuliani said, even Steve Bannon was shocked," he said, before asking Schmidt to comment.

Schmidt said that he was "thrilled" that Giuliani made the remarks and announced his intention to sue the lawyer, his client and Bannon for libel.

Lincoln Project founder Steve Schmidt on Saturday said he intends to sue Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump over their Capitol riot claims.

"Well, what's amazing about it, Ali," Schmidt said in reference to the clip, "is that at the end of it when you cut it off when Bannon goes to, 'you're killing me, you're killing me,' because Steve Bannon knows he's going to get sued by us also, and he is."

"So will Donald Trump who is Rudy Giuliani's client, and Rudy Giuliani is acting on his behest. But look, it is very difficult to sue somebody for defamation or libel in the United States. But our lawyers are telling us that Rudy is well across the line, so we're thrilled about this," he explained.

Shortly after Bannon's podcast aired on Friday, Schmidt tweeted: "We are going to get to sue the s**t out of Rudy Guiliani. I'm so happy that I'm literally choked up."

On Saturday afternoon, the Lincoln Project made public a letter sent to Giuliani by its legal team titled, "Your False and Defamatory Statements About the Lincoln Project (with Accompanying Notice to Preserve All Relevant Documents)."

"You betrayed your country when you rose to speak on January 6, 2021 before a raucous crowd that your client, ex-President Donald Trump, had invited to rather a short distance from the U.S. Capitol. You promoted bogus conspiracy theories. You said the presidency had been 'stolen,'" the letter said. "You declared without prompting or proof that my client, The Lincoln Project, 'planned' the January 6th insurrection 'in order to hurt' Donald Trump."

The Lincoln Project's lawyers concluded that Giuliani had "committed a textbook act of defamation," and gave the attorney until Wednesday February 3rd "to retract your statement fully and to apologize publicly to the Lincoln Project."

It's currently unclear when or how the Lincoln Project will take legal action against Bannon and Trump.

Newsweek reached out to Giuliani's representatives and the Lincoln Project for comment. This story will be updated with any response.

5 lawyers leave Trump impeachment team ahead of trial

The exodus is reportedly due to disagreements over the defense strategy.
The team members reportedly wanted to focus on the legality of the impeachment, while Trump insisted on pushing narratives of election fraud

Canada's EV agenda gets supercharged by Biden, Ford, and GM green plans

Canada for years has danced around the global electric vehicle transition, touting its environmental importance while simultaneously propping up traditional auto manufacturing and defending its oil sands industry. But several recent developments suggest the shift to EVs is gaining traction. The combination of Joe Biden’s presidency in the U.S., coupled with a Democratic-led Congress and pandemic-loosened purse strings in Canada, could jump-start the change — helped by a big boost from industry.

In the past six months, three global automakers have announced big electric vehicle investments in Canada’s most populous province.

General Motors Co. said on January 15 that it will invest nearly $1 billion to produce electric commercial vans in Ingersoll, Ontario. Ford plans to spend roughly $1.2 billion to begin building five battery-powered cars in Oakville, Ontario, from 2025. And in fall 2020, Fiat Chrysler said it would invest as much as $1.5 billion to create its own electric vehicle platform in the province.

The announcements were hailed by the union representing more 20,000 autoworkers at the three companies, as was the promise of close to $600 million in provincial and federal government funding for the Ford plant. (GM and Fiat Chrysler are still in discussions with both governments for support).

More than two-thirds of Americans support Biden’s $1.9 trillion Covid relief plan, poll finds

    Key Points

    • Nearly 70% of Americans support President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief plan, a new poll found, as Democrats struggle to win Republican votes on Capitol Hill.
    • The $1,400 direct payments and $15 per hour minimum wage included in the package also have widespread backing, the Quinnipiac University survey showed.
    • Republicans are wary of more spending after the passage of a $900 billion relief plan in December, and offered Biden a $618 billion proposal.

President Joe Biden’s coronavirus rescue plan, and two of its key economic provisions, have broad support as Democrats try to push it through Congress, a poll released Wednesday found.

More than two-thirds, or 68%, of Americans support the $1.9 trillion package, the Quinnipiac University survey showed. Only 24% of respondents oppose the measure.

The $1,400 direct payments in the plan, a key sticking point as lawmakers negotiate legislation, are more popular than the overall proposal. The poll found 78% of Americans support the stimulus checks, and 18% oppose them.

Respondents also favor Biden’s call for a $15 per hour federal minimum wage by a 61% to 36% margin, according to the survey. However, Democrats may not be able to include the provision in their bill in order to comply with budget reconciliation, which will allow them to pass legislation without Republican support.

The poll and others showing broad support for Biden’s plan among Americans come as Democrats appear unlikely to win any Republican votes for the package. A group of the GOP’s most centrist senators, wary of spending after Congress approved a $900 billion aid bill in December, offered Biden a $618 billion plan.

Biden and Democratic leaders have said the Republican proposal does not go far enough to address the crisis. Democrats have started the process of approving a bill on their own, as the House on Wednesday passed the budget resolution that starts the reconciliation process.

Despite signs of GOP skepticism, Biden believes he can win support across the aisle.

“I think we’ll get some Republicans,” he told reporters Wednesday ahead of a meeting with Senate Democratic committee chairs who will draft the bill.

The Quinnipiac poll followed a Yahoo News/YouGov survey that found support for key policies contained in Biden’s plan. It showed broad backing for provisions such as the direct payments, vaccine distribution funding and the $15 per hour minimum wage.

The size and scope of the direct payments have proven to be the most contentious part of Biden’s plan within his own party. Sen. Joe Manchin, a West Virginia Democrat whose opposition alone would sink the bill in the Senate, has said he wants to see the checks more narrowly targeted. As previously proposed, they would start to phase out at $75,000 in income for individuals.

Earlier Wednesday, Biden told House Democrats he would be open to limiting eligibility for the payments but would not cut the amount, CNBC confirmed. The president said he would not break a promise to send the checks, a core pitch he and Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff made during the Georgia runoff elections that sealed Senate control for Democrats.

Among other key pieces, the Biden plan would implement a $400 per week jobless benefit supplement through September, send $350 billion in support to state and local governments, put $20 billion into a national vaccination program, and allocate more rent and mortgage relief funds.

The Quinnipiac poll, taken from Thursday to Monday, surveyed 1,075 adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Re: The Shining City Upon a Hill

Liz Cheney, the third-highest-ranking Republican in the House, held on to her title as House GOP conference chair during a secret ballot held on Wednesday.

Three sources told NBC News the secret ballot among among Republican House members was 145-61.

This comes after Cheney refused to apologize for voting to impeach former President Donald Trump during the closed-door meeting with her GOP conference Wednesday evening, according to a source in the room. Cheney was among the 10 House Republicans who voted in favor of the article of impeachment against Trump for inciting the Jan.6 insurrection at the Capitol, which killed five people.

Cheney, a frequent critic of Trump and his rhetoric, said at the time, "There has never been a greater betrayal by a president of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution. I will vote to impeach the President."

The lopsided vote to keep Cheney in leadership, despite her vote to impeach Trump, signals a hidden disenchantment with the former president in the House GOP ranks. The impeachment vote was public, meaning lawmakers would be held accountable by their party's voters for their position. But the Cheney vote was a secret ballot, freeing lawmakers to vote their preference without fear of repercussion.

The move created fury and fractures within the party, leading some pro-Trump lawmakers to protest Cheney in her home state of Wyoming, call for her to be stripped of her GOP conference chair title and a potential primary challenge.
