I thought Obama already did with his shovel ready jobs? So why is this still an issue?

No one is saying NOT to fund roads..brides and rail. WHAT they are saying ( and you know this if you read what I said ) they are OPPOSED to the wasteful an non related SPENDING. Let them bust out anything from the bills and resubmit it under it's own legislation. What does college/school subsidies have to do with bridges and roads ..NOTHING.

Just like what does a grant to the Kennedy Center for the Arts ( which is mostly privately funded ) have to do with Covid relief? Why do we need to fund other countries (Iran - NoKo) Covid relief? they deal with CHINA and can get the vax and PPE's from their buddy china?

On top of that the overspending has to come from somewhere besides taxes and that leads to a higher debt with China picking that up to hold over our heads? Hasn't China been ripping us off when it comes to intellectual properties? They have thousands of spies here in the us in Colleges - Government - Lobbyists to determine the outcome of many of these bills. For Christ's sakes Feinstien - Swalwell and Pelosi have either dated a Chinese spy or employed them in their offices. Look DWS employed a known mulsim spy and his family to take care of her computers and they invaded MULTIPLE other house members computers and stole secrets and money for services not rendered.

Then there is Keith Ellison a self professed muslim that employed other muslims and was a staunch supporter of Farrakhan and his radical muslim ideals. Remember on of his famous lines ? " G** DAMN America and Israel ( he called the PIGS and SWINE ). JFK would roll over in his grave to see how low his party has sunk to the extremist radical ideals they now gladly follow.

Back in 2009, former President Barack Obama made some lofty promises about the infrastructure overhaul that his $800 billion economic stimulus plan would provide. Obama used the phrase “shovel-ready projects” in reference to construction projects that could begin right away.

In the end, however, only $98.3 billion of the $800 billion stimulus was dedicated to transportation and infrastructure. Of that $98.3 billion, only about $27.5 billion was actually spent on transportation infrastructure projects. Why?

“The problem is that spending it out takes a long time, because there’s really nothing – there’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects,” Obama said in a 2010 interview with the New York Times.

When it comes to economic stimulus, local governments may take years to begin actual construction even once they receive funding. The reason why such a small portion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ended up spent on infrastructure is that the projects are simply too slow to get off the ground to provide meaningful near-term stimulus.
“If you are talking about stimulating the economy, ‘shovel ready’ doesn’t mean get the money on Monday and start on Tuesday,” former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell said.

“When [Obama] says there’s no such thing as ‘shovel ready,’ he’s right...When we said ‘shovel ready’ we meant ‘shovel ready’ in the way we do things.”

If President Biden intends to get his projects up and running faster than Obama did, he will have to cut through a sea of red tape that stands in front of him.

GOP Responds to Biden's Plan to Give Cash to Corrupt Central American Countries

A month after the Biden administration released its ridiculous plan to send foreign aid to Central America, House Republicans questioned the strategy in a letter released Monday.
Republican Reps. James Comer and Jason Smith, of Kentucky and Missouri respectively, addressed their letter to acting Director of the United States Office of Management and Budget, Shalanda Young, expressing their concern over a “conditional cash transfer program” directed towards residents of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.
As Comer and Smith wrote, “the purpose of such a program would be to discourage illegal immigration from these Northern Triangle countries.”
Former southern border coordinator for the Biden administration, Roberta Jackson, described the plan last month to Reuters, explaining the plan came as a result of the administration “looking at all of the productive options to address both the economic reasons people may be migrating, as well as the protection and security reasons.”

What could go wrong with sending millions/billions to these dictator run countries? Let's see: The pad their pockets while keeping their citizens in the same state of poverty while they live it up on the American dime. They won't use the monies to better their countries. The crony actions will only strengthen the stranglehold they have on their citizenry.
Oh and let's pay them to plant trees while we try to block the sun from shining in order to reduce global warming ( Bill Gates inject calcium carbonate into the atmosphere ). Trees and plants use CO2 as food along with sunlight for the process of turning CO2 into food for the plants.

Sounds like a excellent Plan As Comer and Smith wrote, “the purpose of such a program would be to discourage illegal immigration from these Northern Triangle countries.”

Apparently we are still living in the past. We keep trying the same thing and expecting different results. Yes, time to move on.

For nearly one in three Americans, a restaurant provided their first job. More than half of all Americans have worked in a restaurant at some point in their lives. This is an industry that provides more opportunity for minority managers than any other. This is an industry where the staff feels like family — and often is family.
Our new Restaurant Revitalization Fund, made possible by the American Rescue Plan, will provide direct relief to restaurants and other hard-hit food establishments—bars, bakeries, food stands, food trucks, caterers. We’re putting the American Rescue Plan to work quickly and effectively, and showing the American people that their government can deliver for them again.
Visit sba.gov/restaurants to learn more about the program and how to apply.
