Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is to supply 79 "typhoon-proof turbines" to a major onshore wind development in Japan, as the country attempts to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and develop more renewable energy installations.
The 339.7 megawatt Dohuku project will be located on the island of Hokkaido, Siemens Gamesa said in a statement Wednesday, and consist of four facilities set to be developed by Japan's Eurus Energy.

Betting Opens On Joe Biden Completing Full Term Of Presidency
US president Joe Biden appears increasingly likely to complete a full four-year term in office despite initial skepticism over the 78-year-old’s capacity to see the job through.
Biden beat Donald Trump by some seven million votes in the 2020 US election and defied his critics – Trump being one – who said he was too old to serve as Commander-in-Chief.
The president’s polling figures have fluctuated over his first five months in power and currently sit around 53%, which is something of a recovery from the 46% approval rating produced by some polls back in April.
The Democrat’s first 100 days in office saw him push through a range of spending measures and a $1.9tn Covid relief package.
His ratings have gained a further boost after a statesman-like appearance at the G7 summit and trip to Brussels this month.
Biden Odds Improving
The president and First Lady Jill Biden were the photo op everyone wanted at the summit in Cornwall, where the US made clear their objection to a Brexit trade war brewing between the UK and Ireland.
It is said a “candid” message was issued to UK prime minister Boris Johnson regarding the issue and the threat to the Good Friday Agreement that any dispute could trigger.
After meeting the Queen he was then whisked off to Brussels for talks with the EU about improving the relationship between America and the bloc in the face of international tensions with Russia and China.
Biden’s presence on his first major trip to Europe has strengthened his odds of seeing out a first full term.
When Biden was inaugurated back in January online betting sites initially gave the president their backing on him seeing out four years in the White House, only for those odds to come crashing in before his first 100 days in office.
At one stage he was considered almost 50/50 to quit his post or be forced out but those odds have since come in to 4/7 on him being in office come 2024, suggesting he has a 63.6 per cent chance of keeping his post.
That price is significant as it suggests punters are banking on the president’s longevity – and a stable leadership is considered paramount to keeping the American public onside.
2024 US Election Betting
While Biden appears to be in a good position for now, the chances of him remaining as president after the next election are not exactly in his favour.
His vice president Kamala Harris remains the 4/1 frontrunner to be voted in as president come 2024, while Donald Trump is floating around at 6/1 – although the businessman is yet to confirm whether or not he will run as a Republican candidate.
There are also suggestions Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis could rival Trump for the GOP pick. He is as short as 11/1 to be elected president, with his price having collapsed in recent months.
