Publix announced Monday it plans to hire 30,000 workers across the seven states it serves by the end of 2021. The new workers will be in stores, distribution centers, and other nonseasonal positions.

“As we continue to grow, having a dedicated team ready to meet our needs is vitally important,” Publix Vice President of Human Resources Marcy Benton said in a statement. “Whether associates are new to the workforce or making a career change, Publix provides great benefits and a strong culture in which its associates build long, fulfilling careers.”

Publix is the latest in a long line of retailers and other businesses announcing a hiring increase ahead of the busy holiday season. Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kohls, the USPS, and FedEx have all announced plans to increase their workforce.

Judge orders Texas to suspend new law banning most abortions

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A federal judge on Wednesday ordered Texas to suspend the most restrictive abortion law in the U.S., which since September has banned most abortions in the nation’s second-most populous state.

The order by U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman is the first legal blow to the Texas law known as Senate Bill 8, which until now had withstood a wave of early challenges. In the weeks since the restrictions took effect, Texas abortion providers say the impact has been “exactly what we feared.”

In a 113-page opinion, Pitman took Texas to task over the law, saying Republicans lawmakers had “contrived an unprecedented and transparent statutory scheme” to deny patients their constitutional right to an abortion.

“From the moment S.B. 8 went into effect, women have been unlawfully prevented from exercising control over their lives in ways that are protected by the Constitution,” Pitman wrote. “That other courts may find a way to avoid this conclusion is theirs to decide; this Court will not sanction one more day of this offensive deprivation of such an important right.”

President Joe Biden on Friday restored two sprawling national monuments in Utah, reversing a decision by President Donald Trump that opened for mining and other development hundreds of thousands of acres of rugged lands sacred to Native Americans and home to ancient cliff dwellings and petroglyphs.

The Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante monuments in southern Utah encompass more than 3.2 million acres — an area nearly the size of Connecticut — and were created by Democratic administrations under a century-old law that allows presidents to protect sites considered historic, geographically or culturally important.

“This may be the easiest thing I’ve ever done so far as president — I mean it,'' a smiling Biden said at a White House ceremony attended by Democratic lawmakers, tribal leaders and environmentalists.

Here's another bullshit lie we were fed by the democrat party. Lies, lies, lies.

Atlanta Fed’s Bostic Says Inflation Is Not ‘Transitory’

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic said Tuesday that inflation is likely to last longer than expected and should no longer be called “transitory.”

Bostic is the first Fed official to so clearly break from the central bank’s leadership on inflation. Fed chair Jerome Powell has insisted for months on describing inflation as transitory, although he recently admitted that it could last into next year. The Biden administration has also repeatedly claimed, without evidence, that inflation would only be transitory.

Pelosi is so used to getting her way with the press.

Nancy Pelosi to Reporters: You ‘Could Do a Better Job Selling’ Biden’s Radical Agenda

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), during her weekly press conference, lectured reporters, claiming they did not do a good enough job of “selling” President Joe Biden’s radical spending plan.

Pelosi was pressed by a reporter, who pointed out a recent poll from CBS News showing that only ten percent of Americans can say they know a lot of specific items in the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill, in which they have jammed as many far-left ideas as possible to make for a sweeping one-time bill passage.

“Do you think you need to do a better job at messaging and going forward, how do you sell this?” the reporter asked, questioning Pelosi’s messaging skills.

“Well, I think you all could do a better job of selling it, to be very frank with you,” Pelosi responded, sounding distraught that a member of the media asked such a question, casting doubt over the Speaker’s ability to explain a massive spending bill to the public.

“Every time I come here, I go through the list … It is hard to break through when you have such a comprehensive package,” she added. “Whether [Americas] know it or not, they overwhelmingly support it.”

Growth is found only in adversity.
